EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge Round 14 winner

EuroLeague fans, we have our 14th winner in this season's [EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge](https://euroleaguefantasy.euroleaguebasketball.net/)! Nenad Milosavljevic beat everyone else in Round 14 with his team Neša1, which had a Fantasy Challenge score of 228.45.

Nenad had the following lineup: AS Monaco's Elie Okobo as team captain, then Duane Washington of Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, Dan Oturu of Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, Mouhamet Diouf of Virtus Bologna and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot of Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz as his starters. Armoni Brooks of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan was his sixth man. Nenad's bench players were Partizan's Aleksej Pokusevski, Real Madrid's Alberto Abalde, Anadolu Efes Istanbul's Nick Weiler-Babb and Virtus's Derrick Alston Jr. Monaco play-caller Vassilis Spanoulis was Nenad's head coach.

The prize for finishing first in Round 14 is a VIP EuroLeague TV Subscription for the 2026-27 Season, and an automatic entry to a lottery to win two tickets to the 2027 Final Four.

The first game of Round 15, Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, is scheduled to tip off on Thursday, December 11 at 20:05 CET. This marks the next round's deadline.

Luca Vildoza effectively played a cameo role for three quarters and then came up big in the home straight as Virtus Bologna eked out a 79-78 home win over EuroLeague newcomers Dubai Basketball, improving to 7-7 while the visitors dropped to 6-8 after a thrilling clash.

[Luca Vildoza](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/luca-vildoza/007947/) effectively played a cameo role for three quarters and then came up big in the home straight as [Virtus Bologna](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/virtus-segafredo-bologna/vir/) eked out a 79-78 home win over EuroLeague newcomers [Dubai Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/dubai-basketball/dub/), improving to 7-7 while the visitors dropped to 6-8 after a thrilling clash.

Vildoza sank a pair of pivotal three-pointers down the stretch, including the game-winning shot with 27 seconds left on the clock, before robbing [Filip Petrusev](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/filip-petrusev/011194/) on Dubai’s final possession to send the Virtus Arena crowd into raptures.

It was a happy homecoming for Virtus, which had played its home games to this point at the nearby PalaDozza venue while its iconic gym was being refurbished. On Friday night, the fans could not have asked for a more fitting return.

A rollercoaster from start to finish kept everyone on the edge of their seats as the lead kept changing hands time and again, as Virtus trailed 2-7 early on and then threw away a 26-13 lead as Dubai turned the first half on its head to take a 39-44 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Virtus caught up after the break as the pendulum swung one way and then the other before Vildoza sank a dagger into Dubai’s hearts, hitting nothing but net from long range before he made the crucial steal with only a few seconds remaining.

The player of the game accolade went to top scorer [Carsen Edwards](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/carsen-edwards/011987/), who netted 17 of his 23 points in the first half for Virtus, in addition to racking up 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

“It was a big win for us. We kept chipping away as we stuck together after a couple of tough stretches,” the livewire guard said courtside. “We had some guys who stepped up and made big plays, and I’m just happy we got the win.”

Mobbed by his teammates after the heart-stopping matchup, Vildoza was simply delighted as he made his post-game comments after scoring 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from downtown, as he chipped in with 5 assists and 4 steals. He was also overjoyed to get one over his former Olympiacos Piraeus teammate Petrusev, knocking the ball out of his hands in the dying moments to break Dubai’s hearts after the visitors had threatened to stage an upset.

“I am super happy as we fought a lot to get this win,” Vildoza said. “I know Filip as we played together for two years. That steal was a combination of luck and scouting, as I kind of guessed which way he was going to go. Step by step, I am feeling really good with the coaches and my teammates, I am showing up in every game and practice,” added the 30-year old Argentine, who joined Virtus from Olympiacos during the off-season.

Head coach Dusko Ivanovic was pleased with the performance after Virtus bounced back from a poor second quarter, as [Derrick Alston](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/derrick-alston-jr--/014005/) netted 11 points and [Matt Morgan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/matthew-morgan/012585/) added 10 for the home team, which had 11 steals and forced 13 turnovers from Dubai.

“We were ready for a tough game and only in the second quarter we played below par,” the Montenegrin tactician said. “The rest of the time we played good defense and patient offense as it’s so important that the players are confident and believe in each other,” he added.

Dubai head coach Jurica Golemac was in a sour mood after he saw victory slip away from his team’s grasp. “Congratulations to Virtus. If we had won it would have been deserved, too,” he said. “One missed rebound and one turnover brought the win to them.”

The visitors had five players in double figures, as [Justin Anderson](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/justin-anderson/012795/) paced them on 16 points while [Aleksa Avramovic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/aleksa-avramovic/003983/) and [Kenan Kamenjas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kenan-kamenjas/008325/) added 13 apiece, the latter also racking up 6 rebounds. Dubai won the battle of the boards 39-30, but ultimately it was all in vain as Virtus had the last laugh in a fascinating battle.

Will Clyburn and Dario Brizuela seem to like the Belgrade Arena floor. The FC Barcelona duo starred on Friday night, helping the Blaugrana to continue their dominance against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, at least when it comes to the games played in the Serbian capital.

The [FC Barcelona](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/fc-barcelona/bar/) duo starred on Friday night, helping the *Blaugrana* to continue their dominance against [Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/crvena-zvezda-meridianbet-belgrade/red/), at least when it comes to the games played in the Serbian capital.

Barcelona beat Zvezda 79-89, registering its seventh consecutive road win over Belgrade’s red-and-white club, which has not beaten the Spanish side on its home floor since October 2017.

Heading into the game, it might have seemed like a perfect opportunity for Zvezda to bring an end to this streak after seven consecutive home wins – and having won nine of its last 11 games – saw it secure a share of the EuroLeague’s best record.

However, Zvezda ran into a Barcelona side ready to battle, play physical basketball and run in transition.

“We wanted to come in and show who we are,” Clyburn said in his post-game interview with EuroLeague TV.

“Everybody showed up, everybody came to play. It didn’t matter if they were sitting on the bench for a while, they came in and did their part. Especially a guy like [Miles \[Norris\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/miles-norris/014134/) that’s been struggling a little bit, he came and gave us great minutes off the bench.”

Norris had 4 points but grabbed 5 rebounds, including 3 on the offensive end. Also, [Kevin Punter](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kevin-punter/009862/) posted 14 points and 6 assists on his return to Belgrade, while [Toko Shengelia](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tornike-shengelia/001133/) netted 15 points, with both players making key buckets in the fourth quarter.

However, it was Clyburn and Brizuela who were making the shots when the visitors needed it most.

Other than the opening basket, Barcelona never trailed in the game, but it did have to fight off multiple rallies by the energetic home team.

The visitors opened an early 4-15 lead by repeatedly scoring fast-break baskets, but Zvezda tied it at 21-21 early in the second quarter. That’s when Clyburn stepped up, scoring 15 second-quarter points and netting 20 before halftime, shooting an identical 4 for 5 on both twos and threes in the first two quarters.

It led to Barcelona restoring its double-digit lead, taking a 39-46 edge into halftime and opening a 42-52 margin in the third quarter. Zvezda replied with a 10-0 run and the hosts had all the momentum, all while Clyburn had to sit on the bench with three personal fouls.

That’s when Brizuela stepped up.

He scored 9 straight points for the visitors to remain in front. When Zvezda made yet another push, roared on by a sell-out crowd, to get within 62-63 early in the fourth, Brizuela nailed an eight-meter triple to spark a 0-11 run. Barcelona went on to hold the hosts without a field goal for nearly 5 minutes, avoiding any further drama.

When it comes to big and clutch performances on the Belgrade Arena floor, Clyburn and Brizuela have done it before.

Just over a month ago, in this same venue, [Clyburn hit a game-winning three-pointer from the logo to sink Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/barcelona-continues-to-haunt-partizan-as-will-clyburn-sticks-the-knife-in/). Meanwhile, Brizuela had one of his best EuroLeague performances in a road win over Zvezda in February 2024 when he netted a career-best 6 three-pointers in a 9-point win.

On Friday night, Brizuela spent just 14 minutes on the floor but scored 14 of his 17 points late in the third and in the fourth quarter, making 3-of-6 three-pointers. Clyburn finished with 22 points after a dominant first half.

When one stopped, the other continued, giving Barcelona a continuous offensive production.

On the other hand, Barcelona was steady on defense, forcing Zvezda into a number of tough shots, which pleased head coach Xavi Pascual.

“Defensively, we were on a good level the whole game,” Pascual pointed out. “In the second half we only had 6 turnovers and controlled defensive rebounds better.”

“We are on a good way, but there is a long way in front of us. We need at least one more month to build the level we want to achieve. But the most important is to be healthy.”

Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz protected its home court once again by defeating the visiting EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 88-78 on Friday night. This time, Buesa Arena served as a reunion point for old acquaintances, with Peppe Poeta returning to Vitoria as a coach to face his former teammate, Matteo Spagnolo.

This time, Buesa Arena served as a reunion point for old acquaintances, with [Peppe Poeta](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/ea7-emporio-armani-milan/mil/poeta-giuseppe/) returning to Vitoria as a coach to face his former teammate, [Matteo Spagnolo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/matteo-spagnolo/008173/).

Poeta spent part of the 2013-14 season plying his trade at Baskonia, where he featured in 10 EuroLeague games. Three years later he joined Auxilium Torino, winning the Italian Cup alongside his current Baskonia counterpart, Paolo Galbiati.

The Milan boss ended his playing career at Vanoli Cremona, where he had the opportunity to tutor an 18-year-old Spagnolo, who spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan there from Real Madrid. And on Friday night, it was the student who would deal a blow to his mentor’s morale.

Spagnolo hit the ground running in Round 14, going 3 for 4 from inside to record 8 points in the first quarter as Baskonia took a 23-20 lead into the second. He added 5 points to his tally before the break and stepped up on the defensive end in the third, with Baskonia holding Milan to just 12 points.

“For sure I felt pretty good throughout the game,” Spagnolo told EuroLeague TV. “The shots were falling. I feel that I am pretty happy with my performance, but mostly it’s a team win.”

The hosts went on to open a 70-54 lead heading into the fourth quarter, as Spagnolo ended the game on 18 points – his second-highest tally of the season. He also bagged 4 assists, as well as 3 steals on the other end in just under 27 minutes on the floor.

“Matteo is my boy,” Poeta said during the post-game press conference, his face lit up with a huge smile. “He played with me during the last year of my career. He's like a little brother to me. I'm happy for him, for his game \[tonight\]. He has a wonderful future ahead of him. He has to believe in himself and he can play more games like this. I'm sure of it.”

Boosted by the home crowd, Baskonia extended its winning streak at Buena Arena to seven games across all competitions, including five straight in the EuroLeague.

“We had to come and show up for our fans,” Spagnolo added. “We all feel like this is our home and we have to show up every time we come here.”

The Baskonia guard was helped by the ever-consistent [Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/timothe-luwawu-cabarrot/012080/), who recorded his seventh 20-point night of the season. TLC went 3 for 5 from inside the arc and 4 for 9 from deep, finishing the game on 21 points. He pulled down 5 rebounds, too.

“We’ve proved that we are playing really good at home,” he told EuroLeague TV. “It’s tough \[for the opponent\] to come here and win, because we have the fans and we give our 100%. It’s home, so it feels good to be here and play here.”

The hosts managed 10 steals and forced Milan to as many as 17 turnovers, leading Poeta to admit that Baskonia's “energy didn’t allow us to compete as we would have liked to.”

On Friday night, though, [Valencia Basket](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/valencia-basket/pam/) playmaker [Darius Thompson](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/darius-thompson/011078/) eclipsed that galaxy of stars with a fabulous multifaceted performance, guiding his team to an eyebrow-raising 79-89 road victory, ending Panathinaikos’s four-game winning run and sending *Los Taronjas* into a share of second place in the standings.

Thompson, in his first season with Valencia after earlier stints with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and Anadolu Efes Istanbul, dazzled in Athens by combining 19 points, 6 assists, 8 rebounds and 2 steals for a PIR of 28.

Outshining his heralded opponents was certainly not an easy task, and the early stages suggested that Panathinaikos would enjoy another successful evening courtesy of its own backcourt talent: Sloukas, Grant and Shorts all had 3 assists before the midway point in the second quarter, during which time Nunn had predictably become the game’s first double-digit scorer.

But Valencia stayed in the game through long-range shooting, with 10 different players attempting no less than 21 three-pointers before halftime. The Spanish team’s accuracy was, however, more miss than hit with plenty of open looks missed, allowing Panathinaikos to stay in front and restricting Pedro Martinez’s men to just 38 first-half points.

But there was little deviance from that strategy in the second half, with a three-point strike from Thompson featuring in a 9-0 run which took the *Taronjas* into the lead – an advantage that was protected in the last second of the end of the third period when [Kam Taylor](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kameron-taylor/011217/) beat the buzzer to strike his third triple of the evening.

Another burst of three-point shooting, with conversions by [Nate Reuvers](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/reuvers-nathan/012738/) and the ever-dangerous Taylor, saw the visitors' lead stretch as high as 10 points, 65-75, early in the fourth. But there was still plenty of time on the clock. As the atmosphere intensified, Grant’s spectacular save on the baseline, setting up Shorts for a three-pointer, helped the Greens fight back to a single-score deficit, 74-77, with still four minutes remaining.

That, though, was the signal for Thompson to provide the exclamation mark on his special performance, delivering not only the game’s defining moment but also its most spectacular: receiving a pass from [Omari Moore](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/omari-moore/014115/) in full stride just inside the three-point arc, Thompson took off and exploded all over the defense of [Juancho Hernangomez](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/juancho-hernangomez/012712/) to detonate a brutal right-handed slam, achieving the ultimate Athens accolade of silencing the usually raucous home fans.

It was surely one of the dunks of the season, and also a moment to suck the air out of a Panathinaikos team which never looked like recovering. Indeed, Valencia was even able to increase its lead in the final minutes, appropriately finishing the game with another score from Thompson to seal a double-digit final margin.

The 30-year-old guard was understated in his post-game reaction, preferring to let his action speak louder than words as he told EuroLeague TV: “I’m glad we got the win, that’s all that matters to me. We tried to play with as much energy as possible, and we found a way to come out with the win.”

Triumphant coach Martinez, however, was much more effusive after watching his team prove that its outstanding form at the new Roig Arena – with a 6-1 home record – can be matched by hard-earned victories against top-class opponents on the road.

“We played like we wanted to in practice: with rhythm, with short rotations and the players understanding perfectly that our moment has to arrive if we play hard and with passion,” Martinez enthused. “Our third quarter was magnificent – our pace, our mentality in defense, our activity… it was great.”

Reflecting on the qualities that make Valencia such a difficult opponent, Martinez did not shy away from talking up his team’s chances of further success as the season unfolds.

“We have good players, we have a good mentality, and I think our day-by-day \[work\] is good enough to be competitive in a great competition,” he said. “We have to play against great teams, like today – Panathinaikos, for me, is one of the top two or three teams of the competition. But with our mentality we can be competitive against everybody.”

And on Friday night, nobody embodied that mentality more than Darius Thompson.

The only time Barcelona trailed was when the hosts scored the opening basket, but Barcelona quickly built a double-digit lead behind Will Clyburn. The hosts repeatedly rallied throughout the night and tied the game on several occasions, but never took the lead. 

Dario Brizuela played a key role for the winners, scoring 14 of his 17 points late in the third and in the fourth quarter. Clyburn finished with 22 points, scoring 20 in the first half, while Toko Shengelia had 15 and Kevin Punter poured in 14 points. Codi Miller-McIntyre scored 19 points for Zvezda, and Chima Moneke collected 15 points and 9 rebounds in a losing effort.

But Valencia started the second half with a 0-9 run, and stayed in front heading into the last ten minutes, 61-65. Another flurry of scoring gave the visitors a double-digit lead early in the fourth, before defense took over to seal an impressive win.

Darius Thompson powered Valencia with a remarkable combination of 19 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds, while Kameron Taylor hit 4 triples in his 18 points and Brancou Badio made a trio of three-balls for 12. Kendrick Nunn paced Panathinaikos with 23 points, TJ Shorts added 19, and Kostas Sloukas and Dinos Mitoglou both scored 12. Having led from start to finish, the hosts opened a double-digit advantage thanks to a 12-0 run in the third quarter and maintained it until the final whistle was blown. Baskonia improved its record to 5-9, with Milan dropping to 7-7.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot scored a game-high 21 points, with Matteo Spagnolo netting 18. Leandro Bolmaro and Armoni Brooks bagged 16 each, while Devin Booker ended the game on 13 points.

Virtus edged out Dubai 79-78 after Luca Vildoza hit the game-winning  3-pointer and then made a crucial steal with only a few seconds left on the clock on the Italian side’s return to their favorite gym. Dubai set the tone early on as the visitors raced into a 2-7 lead early on, but Virtus hit back instantly as Derrick Alston got the hosts going with 8 quick-fire points which turned the first quarter on its head as Virtus surged ahead 26-13. Dubai closed the gap to 26-17 at the end of the first quarter and then completed a 0-16 run to nose ahead 26-29 early in the second, making it a proper rollercoaster as the visitors kept chipping away to take a 39-44 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The matchup got physical and Dubai took a 54-56 lead into the final 10 minutes after a low-scoring third quarter, as both teams beefed up on defense. The see-saw battle kept fans on the edge of their seats down to the wire and Vildoza settled the rip-roaring contest as he hit nothing but net for the game-winning basket before he pickpocketed Filip Petrusev to deny the visitors inside Virtus Arena.

Carsen Edwards paced the home team on 23 points, Vildoza and Alston chipped with 11 apiece while Matthew Morgan added 10. Justin Anderson led Dubai on 16 points as Aleksa Avramovic and Kenan Kamenjas scored 13 each.

Real improved to 8-6 in the standings while Efes dropped to 5-9. Efes led 67-65 with 7 minutes remaining but Real locked in on defense, using a 5-16 run to get another win.

Mario Hezonja led the winners with 22 points. Trey Lyles added 11 while Chuma Okeke had 10, all in the third quarter, for Real. Rolands Smits led Efes with 21 points, matching his career-high effort. Ercan Osmani added 18 on 4-of-4 three-pointers, Rodrigue Beaubois had 11 on his EuroLeague return after missing eight consecutive games, while Isaia Cordinier got 10 for the hosts. Walter Tavares became the first player to reach 500 EuroLeague blocks but also went scoreless for the first time in 256 games, having last done so on October 24, 2019.

It was 30-51 at half and, even though Zalgiris's defense limited Maccabi to just 9 third-quarter points, the hosts never threatened the outcome in the second half.

Walker finished with 23 points, Jaylen Hoard posted 16 points and 9 rebounds and Iffe Lundberg added 10 points for the winners. Sylvain Francisco paced Zalgiris with 13 points and 7 assists, but was 0 for 7 from downtown as he saw a streak of 35 consecutive games with a three-pointer made come to an end. Zalgiris lost its second home game all season in falling to 8-6, while Maccabi claimed its second road win in climbing to 4-10.

Monaco smoked Paris with a 125-104 win on Thursday night, making this the third week in succession that Vassilis Spanoulis’s men have made history. After breaking its own record for margin of victory in each of the last two rounds, Monaco set a new club record with 125 points scored, which is the third-highest total in EuroLeague history. Even more impressive is the fact it came without any need for overtime. Monaco improved to 9-5 with this win, its third in a row, while Paris dropped its third straight to fall to 5-9.

The three-headed monster of Elie Okobo, Matthew Strazel and Mike James ran the show for Monaco. Okobo finished with 26 points and 8 assists, Strazel had 22 points and 7 dimes, while James posted 16 points and 7 helpers. Nikola Mirotic also added 14 points, and Alpha Diallo poured in 10 points. Paris guard Justin Robinson paced his team with 24 points, followed by Jared Rhoden with 22 and Nadir Hifi with 17.

Despite trailing by 15, ASVEL made a buoyant run to shrink the lead heading into halftime, before putting together an incredible third-quarter rally to take the lead. There were then six lead changes as the teams went blow-for-blow. ASVEL were able to grow its lead to 11 early in the fourth, but the hosts plugged away to stay in the fight. With minutes to go, Hapoel went on a 7-0 run to claw its way back into the game. Nando De Colo and Dimitris Itoudis picked up technical fouls as the game became chippy, but Hapoel’s key hustle plays saw it secure the victory.

Dan Oturu played the starring role for Hapoel, adding 7 boards to his 18-point scoring performance. Antonio Blakeney and Johnathan Motley also bolstered their team with 16 points each. The result was especially tough on the excellent Nando De Colo, who kept his team in the clash until the very end, recording 20 points in the loss. Strengthening its position atop the league table, Hapoel moved to 10-4 with the win. ASVEL, meanwhile, slid to 3-11.

Tyrique Jones followed suit with 21 and 10 rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie led all scorers with 25 points, with Vladimir Lucic bagging a season-high 17 points. Johannes Voigtmann registered 10 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in defeat.

The news sent shockwaves across European basketball, making the turning of the page a particularly challenging task for interim coach Mirko Ocokoljic and the players.

As if that weren't enough, Thursday’s game against [FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/fc-bayern-munich/mun/) didn't start as Partizan may have hoped. Desperate for a victory that would end its four-game losing slide, the guests hit the ground running by dominating the boards and firing on all cylinders from beyond the arc to secure a 36-43 lead at halftime.

But when the Serbian side needed them the most, [Duane Washington](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/duane-washington/013370/) and [Tyrique Jones](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tyrique-jones/011981/) came to the fore. The Partizan center was unstoppable in the paint, bagging 9 third-quarter points to take his tally to 17. His eighth bucket of the night gave Partizan a 57-55 lead with 1:33 to go in the third.

Enter a red-hot Washington, who nailed 7 straight points, including back-to-back triples, for Partizan’s largest lead (64-58) to that point. Partizan opened a double-digit advantage in the opening stages of the fourth quarter, but Bayern seemed unwilling to throw in the towel.

Led by former Partizan forward [Vladimir Lucic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/vladimir-lucic/001288/) and [Spencer Dinwiddie](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/spencer-dinwiddie/014162/), the German side went on a 2-15 run that brought it within 79-77 with 3:20 remaining. And then came the dagger by none other than Washington himself. The Partizan guard pulled up from beyond the arc and drained a season-high fifth triple of the night to practically finish the game off.

“The guys did a great job,” Ocokoljic told EuroLeague TV. “I’m so thankful to these guys. It was not easy to prepare for this game. It was a tough week behind us. We were talking about this game a lot, how we need to play and be focused on basketball, on things that Bayern is doing on defense and offense. And somehow in the second half, things started to work much better than in the first.”

What changed after the break was Partizan’s hustle mentality on both ends of the floor. The hosts ended the game with 14 offensive rebounds and forced as many as 17 turnovers, earning extra valuable possessions that translated into 20 points off Bayern errors.

On the offensive end, Washington scored 22 points and distributed 6 assists in just under 18 minutes. For his part, Jones went 9 for 11 from inside the arc for a season-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to complete his third double-double of the season, with Partizan clinching a 92-85 victory. The two men also produced magic on multiple occasions, with Jones making the most of Washington’s dishes to work his way onto the highlight reel.

“I’m just proud of us,” Washington said after the game. “We stuck together. We fought. We needed this really bad. We went out there and did what we had to do.”

Partizan kicked off the post-Obradovic era with its fifth win of the season – a victory that will serve as a boost in morale ahead of the upcoming derby against high-flying Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. Should Washington and Jones carry their momentum into next week’s clash, Partizan will have two players it knows can be relied upon when circumstances become demanding.
