De Colo finished the game with 9 points, taking him to 4,154 for his illustrious career. The only man left in front of De Colo is Vassilis Spanoulis, who leads the all-time charts with 4,455 points.

De Colo entered the game against Zalgiris Kaunas with 4,145 career points, needing 7 to tie Juan Carlos Navarro (4,152). After tying the record early in the game, De Colo waited until deep in the fourth quarter to take advantage of an opening on the baseline to score the layup that put him ahead of Navarro with 3:39 to play.

For De Colo, this is another on the long list of his achievements in the competition. A two-time EuroLeague champion, in 2016 and 2019, De Colo was chosen as the 2015-16 EuroLeague MVP and was the competition's top scorer that season, too. De Colo has also been named to the All-EuroLeague First Team and the All-EuroLeague Second Team three times each, and has been voted on the 2010-20 All-Decade team, earning MVP of the Round honors 16 times, more than any other player in competition history.

They had a couple of comebacks, but we managed to regain control of the situation, especially in sharing the ball and \[getting\] defensive stops. The last three or four minutes were a little bit sloppy, but the game was already over. I’m happy overall with the performance of the team.

“I’m very satisfied with the performance of my team. We have to put things in perspective: ALBA Berlin beat Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade a couple of weeks ago; two days ago, they were one inch from beating Zalgiris. I think we had the right approach. From the very beginning, we put the game on the right track and we kept our foot on the gas. Maybe we found a little trouble in the third quarter, they came back to 8, but we managed to reopen a good gap, and everybody contributed. Virtus will look for the creativity of Milos Teodosic, who ranks third in the league with 5.9 assists per game, to expose an ALBA defense which has allowed the second-highest number of points (84.6) and assists (18.2) in the competition.

Zalgiris is heading into a run of five games out of six at Zalgirio Arena, where it has won five of the last six, so has a great chance to put its fate in its own hands by starting that sequence with a victory.

Not many teams were without Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus and/or Mathias Lessort of Partizan. Shane Larkin was a last-minute scratch, too, joining Vasilije Micic in Anadolu Efes Istanbul's injury list. My team Gancedato had three Efes players, but none of them was Larkin. I had Vezenkov and Lessort, but also Will Clyburn of Efes as team captain and Dzanan Musa of Real Madrid, who really saved the day. My coach, Andrea Trinchieri of FC Bayern Munich, won in Round 27, too. Even with that, I had just 117.1 fantasy points because almost everything else went wrong. Even with that, I went up in the standings and rank 2,065th overall, which is kind of surprising. I guess a lot of people had Vezenkov, Lessort and Larkin.

Unless another game is postponed, three trades will be allowed before each round until the end of the regular season. I am selling Coach Trinchieri because Bayern plays against Olympiacos, the first-ranked team in the standings. Instead, I am buying Kazys Maksvytis of Zalgiris: cheaper, and his team comes off a road victory to play at home against 17th-place LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. I am selling Paris Lee of Panathinaikos Athens, who played very well for a while but not in Round 27. I am trading Lessort mainly because Partizan plays against red-hot Milan, and Chris Singleton of Efes because he barely played earlier this week.

That was easier than I thought. Of course, if I had more than three trades, I would be very happy to use them, but it is what it is. I am buying [Darius Thompson](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/darius-thompson/011078/) of Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, who comes off a huge performance in his team's road victory in Madrid. He had 14 assists and just one turnover. Since Baskonia plays at home against high-scoring Monaco, I am also buying [Matt Costello](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/matthew-costello/010444/) at center. That leaves me with around 8 credits for my final trade, and I am getting a former Baskonia player, [Achille Polonara](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/achille-polonara/002084/) of Zalgiris. He has finally found his rhythm and I expect a great performance from him against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

As you can see, my team features six players taking the court on Thursday, with Vezenkov as provisional team captain, and four more, all forwards, on Friday. Right now, I have three elite forwards, so don't be surprised if I finish Round 28 with a 1-3-1 lineup featuring Clyburn, Vezenkov and Dzanan Musa of Real Madrid. I am taking some risks but it is almost the end of the regular season, so trying to surprise your opponents is always interesting.
