### Larkin ends six-year wait for double-double

Shane Larkin had his fingerprints all over Anadolu Efes Istanbul's 82-87 road win against Panathinaikos Athens. With fellow star guard Vasilije Micic out injured, Larkin played a season-high 36 minutes and 18 seconds and led Efes to its 13th victory by pairing 13 points with 10 assists. Larkin's previous season high was 7 assists in Round 20 against FC Bayern Munich. It was also his first double-double since the 2016-17 season, when he was playing for Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Curiously, Larkin's last double-double came exactly six years earlier, on March 2, 2017, when he had 13 points and 11 assists to inspire Baskonia to an 87-74 home win against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. This is his first double-double with Efes and the fourth in his EuroLeague career.

### Avramovic makes it rain

Aleksa Avramovic of Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade is known for being an accomplished three-point shooter, but when it came to his shooting in this year's Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, his shots were not falling in. In 11 EuroLeague games in 2022-23, Avramovic had gone just 4-of-17 from three-point range (23.5% 3FG), and he hadn’t seen more than one drop in a game. That changed in Round 6, however, as Avramovic buried 5-of-7 shots from downtown (71.4% 3FG) against ALBA Berlin. Avramovic was instant offense off the bench, finishing the game with 19 points in less than 19 minutes. He buried 3 consecutive three-pointers to give Partizan a 31-30 lead late in the first half, before adding 2 more after the break to help the Serbian team take a convincing lead, 70-50.

### Lucic's sweet return

FC Bayern Munich star forward Vladimir Lucic had not played since Round 10 due to injury, yet he played a stellar role in his team's comeback win against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade in Round 26. It was a special game for Lucic, who grew up with Zvezda's archrivals Partizan and was coming up against some of his teammates from the Serbian national team. Lucic finished the game with 20 points on really good shooting, hitting 4-of-4 two-pointers and 4-of-6 three-pointers. Zvezda led 58-66 with under eight minutes to go, but Lucic stepped up when Bayern desperately needed a go-to guy, hitting a mid-range jumper and a couple of three-pointers to bring the hosts back into the game, 66-68, and eventually win it.

AS Monaco did not seem to be in the best position to win its Round 26 home game against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, trailing 58-59 at the end of the third quarter. Donta Hall had enjoyed a sub-par performance until then with 6 points and 4 rebounds, but he made things happen in the fourth quarter. Hall had three outstanding dunks, a huge block off the glass and as many as 6 rebounds in the last 10 minutes. Hall finished the game with his first double-double of the season, 12 points and 10 rebounds, while he didn’t miss a single shot and amassed a season-high PIR of 25. That was his third career double-double with Monaco; his last one came against Olympiacos Piraeus in Game 4 of the 2022 EuroLeague Playoffs.

### Motley helped Fenerbahce inside

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul hit a season-high and a club-record 20 three-pointers in its 104-72 blowout win over Virtus Segafredo Bologna, becoming the second team this season to have nine different players knock down at least 1 triple. One of the players who did not hit a three-pointer was big man Johnathan Motely, but the Fenerbahce center is the one who got the team going in the first place. Motley scored 6 early points and the Virtus defense had a hard time trying to contain him. That left a little extra room on the perimeter, and once his teammates started knocking down long-range shots, there was no stopping Fenerbahce. Motley played 19 minutes and finished with 16 points on 7-for-9 two-point shooting, while he also pulled down 7 rebounds and dished 2 assists in a 32-point drubbing.

### Tonut does a bit of everything for Milan

After leading his team in minutes one week ago, Stefano Tonut spent under 18 minutes on the floor during EA7 Emporio Armani Milan's 83-62 win against Olympiacos Piraeus on Friday night. He found his way to the basket, scoring 7 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field, in addition to pulling down a team-high 6 rebounds, dishing 3 assists and recording 2 steals, all of which are tied for his personal best. In particular, the contribution of Milan's guards on the glass was one of the keys to the game. Milan outrebounded the Reds 29-24, allowing just 3 offensive rebounds, the fewest it had this season. Tonut helped lead Milan to a resounding victory over Olympiacos, the team's fourth win in succession.

Round 26 roll call: Long-awaited feats

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan was touted as a strong contender to make the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs before the start of the season, but a run of nine successive defeats left the two-time former continental champions languishing at the bottom of the standings, with seemingly no chance of finishing in the top eight.

That accomplishment still looks distant, with Milan on a 10-15 record and trailing a pack of teams more likely to slug it out for postseason berths. However, Friday night’s stunning 83-62 home win over leader Olympiacos Piraeus has offered a glimmer of hope that a strong finish to the regular season could somehow produce a miracle.

Everything during that poor run of form seemed to conspire against Milan. Regular starters Kevin Pangos and Shavon Shields were sidelined with long-term injuries, while Gigi Datome has only played four games all season and several other players have missed time.

The 0-9 run was followed by somewhat improved but still patchy form before the arrival of point guard Shabazz Napier signaled a change in fortunes. Milan has since racked up four consecutive wins, with the demolition job against Olympiacos suggesting that the team has finally started to fire on all cylinders.

Napier has stabilized Milan with ingredients that short-handed roster was badly missing. The 31-year-old has averaged 10.0 points and 4.0 assists so far, pulling the strings on offense while also adding steel on defense. The latter trait was everywhere to be seen as Olympiacos was contained to its second-lowest scoring point total of the season thanks to Milan's ironclad defense.

Shooting guard Billy Baron rediscovered his form with 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor against Olympiacos, but the entire Milan looked completely different to the one that lost 82-66 at Olympiacos in the middle of the aforementioned rough patch.

Although its fightback to try to reach the playoffs is complicated by a ticking clock, both head coach Ettore Messina and Baron were hopeful of a surge in the final stretch.

“The team played with great competitiveness against the best EuroLeague team so far; we forced four or five jump balls, which is a sign of aggressiveness that we would like to see all the time,” Messina said during the post-game press conference. “Of course, when you have such a big win against such a great team, you need them to play a little bit below their level. We need to stay humble, continue to work and continue to find the confidence and the trust \[that we need\]. One into the other, which I think is the key for us to finish well this season."

Baron acknowledged that Milan is still a work in progress. “It’s always easy when shots go in, for sure," he explained. "We put together our best game of the year so far and we just need to keep building on this. There is still a long way to go and we still have a lot of ground to make up, but if we keep playing like this, hopefully we can get some crucial wins down the road.”

More good news came when Messina announced that Pangos is expected back in action as soon as this weekend in the Italian League, while Shields is returning soon, too, perhaps in the EuroLeague double-round week that starts Tuesday for Milan with a visit to Valencia and continued home against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade two days later.

Milan is currently one of the hottest teams in the EuroLeague, so another couple of wins would see its dreams of reaching the playoffs start to become very, very interesting.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul announced on Saturday that it had extended contract with swingman [Marko Guduric](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/marko-guduric/004004/) for the next three years, tying the player with the club until the end of the 2025-26 season. Guduric (1.96 meters, 27 years old) is in his second stint with Fenerbahce, the club where he returned in December 2020. He is averaging 12.5 points on 61.1% two-point and 40.0% three-point shooting this season, along with 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals.

A seven-year EuroLeague veteran, four days shy of his 28th birthday, Guduric had his first two-year stint with Fenerbahce when he helped the team reach the EuroLeague Final Four in both 2018 and 2019. He also helped Fenerbahce win the 2018 Turkish championship and the 2019 Turkish Cup during that span. He also helped the club win the Turkish League title last season.

Guduric is a product of the Crvena Zvezda Belgrade youth system and made his professional debut on loan to FMP Zeleznik. He returned to Zvezda in 2015 and played two seasons there, during which he made his EuroLeague debut and won the Adriatic and Serbian League titles twice and the Serbian Cup once. Guduric also played a season in the NBA with Memphis. He has been a member of the Serbian national team, with which he won the silver medal at EuroBasket 2017.

A stunning individual performance in a winning effort allowed forward [Will Clyburn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/will-clyburn/004888/) of Anadolu Efes Istanbul to claim Round 26 MVP honors in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Clyburn was everywhere as Efes downed Panathinaikos Athens in the Greek capital, 82-87. His PIR of 32 topped all EuroLeague players in Round 26. Clyburn finished the game with 24 points, hitting 5-of-9 two-pointers, 4-of-6 three-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws. He added 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. Clyburn, the 2019 Final Four MVP, has won his second MVP honor in the last five rounds, and for the fifth time in his EuroLeague career.

EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge: Round 26 winner!

Real Madrid benefitted from two big individual performances from Fabien Causeur and Gabriel Deck on the way to securing a tough road win, 71-75, at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Friday.

Firstly, Causeur delivered his best display of the season as he returned to his native France. The veteran came into the game averaging just 4.6 points per game on modest shooting percentages of 43.9% from two-point range and 31.6% on three-pointers, but he blew those stats out of the water in an excellent opening three quarters.

Causeur gave himself confidence by scoring Real's first basket of the game and soon added another bucket, before saving his biggest contribution after the break. He scored the first basket of the second half and then matched former international teammate Nando De Colo with a pair of triples, prior to adding free throws to take his third quarter tally to 10 points and his overall total to a season-high 14 points on 5-of-6 field goal attempts.

Causeur’s efforts were nearly enough to secure the victory as he took Real into a 44-59 lead… but not quite, because ASVEL then came roaring back to make it a 2-point game midway through the final period. But that was when Real’s other main protagonist took over, with Deck launching a personal 0-6 run with a tough mid-range jumper and two determined layups in the space of 73 seconds. Deck then made sure of victory with another powerful drive in the last minute, and his 8 fourth-quarter points in his overall total of 12 were enough to take the win back home to Spain.

Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz played one of its best games this season on Friday night, downing Valencia Basket 114-75 in Round 26. Daulton Hommes played a big role for the winners, setting a new club record in the process.

Valencia had a strong start and led 10-15 early in the game. Hommes stepped up with 8 quick points, including a dunk, and a big block on Jonah Radebaugh, allowing Baskonia to set a new physical tone for the rest of the game. He added 6 more points early in the second half before getting 6 more in the fourth quarter, including a big three-pointer that allowed Baskonia to start celebrating a big win, 95-66.

Hommes finished the game with 21 points, a new career high, after having downed all 15 of his free-throw attempts to set a new Baskonia club record that had stood for almost two decades. On December 17, 2003, Arvydas Macijauskas went 14-for-14 from the free-throw line in a 92-76 home win against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. Hommes is now 33-of-35 for the season, ranking first overall (94.3% FT). His PIR of 31 is also a personal best in 23 EuroLeague career games.

"We wanted this win really bad. We work hard and compete every night. We just have to keep the same energy on the road now. We have high aspirations, our goals are big and we are going to keep on fighting," Hommes said after the game. "It feels good, I put a lot of work in my game and felt good tonight."

Asked about Hommes, Baskonia head coach Joan Penarroya felt good about the forward's monster performance. "I am very happy for Daulton's game, and his teammates are very happy, too. He proved it from the very beginning, Daulton has shown for many months that he is an important player for us," he commented. "We are talking about an important player that balances our game a lot and gives us options which we have if he is doing well. And if he doesn't, we have to look for other alternatives."
