Panathinaikos Athens brought back a familiar face by signing veteran guard Nikos Pappas, the club announced on Saturday. Pappas (1.96 meters, 32 years old) spent seven seasons with the Greens, from 2013 to 2020. He has 130 career appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, averaging 7.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
Pappas last played with AEK Athens, where last season he posted 12.8 points and 2.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds in Greek League action. Since leaving Panathinaikos, Pappas also played with Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel and Zielona Gora in Poland. Before his seven-year stint with the Greens, Pappas started his career in Panellinios, and has also played with Real Madrid's second team, Kolossos, PAOK Thessaloniki and Panionios.
