The sharpshooter returns to Belgrade after five seasons in Spain
Partizan brings Vanja Marinkovic home
Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade is bringing home a favorite son with the signing of Vanja Marinkovic on a two-year deal. The three-point ace comes off a strong season with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Last season, Marinkovic (1.98 meters, 27 years old) averaged 11.0 points on 38.4% three-point shooting plus 2.5 rebounds in 37 games for Baskonia, mostly as a starter. It was his third season with the club.
Marinkovic came through Partizan's academy and made his professional debut there. He was the youngest team captain in club history when he got the role in the 2015-16 season at 17 years and 9 months old.
He moved to Valencia Basket in 2019 and made his EuroLeague debut. After two seasons in Valencia, he joined Baskonia. Marinkovic’s trophy case includes a silver medal at the FIBA World Cup with the Serbian national team and two Serbian Cups with Partizan. With 207 career three-pointers, he is already in the top 100 in EuroLeague history and should continue to rise quickly.
