Williams career high from long range

Derrick Williams had a monster performance for Panathinaikos Athens in a Round 9 overtime win over Virtus Segafredo Bologna. Williams finished with 26 points, one shy of career-high, on 5-for-7 two-point and 5-for-8 three-point shooting, while also pulling down 8 rebounds. Among his new career-best 5 three-pointers, none was more important than the one he hit with 16.2 seconds left in overtime, which proved to be a game-winning shot as it gave Panathinaikos 86-85 lead. Williams finished the game with a PIR of 30, tied for the second-best of his EuroLeague career.

Martin first time in double figures

First-year Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv forward Jarell Martin had his first double-digit scoring game in a come-from-behind 90-84 home victory over Olympiacos Piraeus in Round 9. Martin scored 13 points, going 2-for-4 each from both two- and three-point range, and also pulled 5 rebounds. It was a much-needed spark for Maccabi to find someone other than Lorenzo Brown or Wade Baldwin to lift the team to a big victory.

Deck's productive week

Small forward Gabriel Deck's performance was a big part of Real Madrid becoming one of the teams to register two wins during the season's second double-round week. In Round 9 road win at Valencia Basket, Deck had his first double-double of the season, and the third of his career, collecting 16 points and 10 rebounds. Two days later, in a 105-97 win over Partizan, Deck finished with 15 points and found a different way to contribute, dishing 4 assists.

Andjusic shot the lights out

Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade returns from Spain with a pair of losses against FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, but one Partizan player who had himself a shooting fest in Spain was Danilo Andjusic. In a 79-68 Round 9 loss in Barcelona, Andjusic scored all of his career-high 23 points in the second half, making 3 of 3 two-pointers and 3 of 5 triples to finish with a personal-best PIR of 28. Just 48 hours later, Andjusic went 3-for-4 from long range, including a pair of buzzer-beaters to end the first two quarters, and scored 13 points against Real. Andjusic, who went into this week with 57 points scored and 10 triples made on his tally for the season, combined for 46 points and 6 three-pointers over two games.

Costello boosted Baskonia on home floor

Needing a boost of energy in its Round 9 return home, Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gastiez got all that and more against Zalgiris Kaunas from center Matthew Costello. In 21 minutes on the floor, Costello did loads of damage, scoring 19 points while making 4 of 7 two-point shots and 3 of 4 threes. He also pulled down 7 rebounds to go with a steal, a block and an assist. Costello scored the first 7 points in Baskonia's 11-2 third-quarter run that helped the team take the lead for good before breaking the game open in the fourth to win 93-73.

Teenager gave Los Blancos a boost

Real Madrid's 18-year-old center Eli Ndiaye got into the Round 10 game against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade with 4 seconds left in a first quarter in which Los Blancos allowed 40 points. But with Ndiaye on the floor in the first 6 minutes and 44 seconds of the second quarter, Real turned its 32-40 deficit into a 52-42 lead. In his eighth career appearance, Ndiaye ended up playing a career-high 11 minutes, made his only two-point attempt, and pulled down 4 rebounds for the night. He had a +19 in plus-minus column in Real's eventual 105-97 victory.

Obst's late-game shooting clinic

FC Bayern sharpshooter Andreas Obst had the best shooting night of his EuroLeague career in Round 10, almost singlehandedly filling Bayern's miraculous comeback at AS Monaco. Obst scored 12 of his career-high 18 points in the final 3 minutes and 15 seconds of the game, including 9 points – a pair of triples and 3 free throws – in the last 47 seconds. He set a new career high with 5 triples made, knocking them down on 7 attempts, although his team finally fell in defeat, 80-79.

Higgins came to Barca's rescue

Neither team could get a handle on the scoreboard as FC Barcelona fought visiting Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz basket for basket on Friday of Round 10. Barcelona had the highest lead of the game, 8 points, for one possession late in the third quarter before Baskonia tied twice more in the fourth. It was 81-79 with 5:10 to play when veteran Cory Higgins hit the first of his 3 three-pointers in a row that blew the game open. Higgins finished with a season-high 17 points, with 11 of those down the stretch leading to a 96-84 final score. But the game was either team's to win until Higgins stepped up.
