Zvezda returned to winning ways by downing UNICS 77-84 in comeback fashion on the road. Zvezda improved its record to 9-14 while UNICS dropped to 13-11 and seventh place with its fourth loss in five games. UNICS had its biggest lead, 65-56, in the last minute of the third quarter, after which Zvezda outscored the hosts 12-28.
Zvezda rallies for 77-84 road win at UNICS
Nikola Kalinic paced the winners with 20 points and Nate Wolters added Mario Hezonja led UNICS with 18 points. Marco Spissu added 17 and John Brown 13. Aaron White and Nikola Kalinic joined Ognjen Dobric in giving Zvezda an early double-digit margin, 11-22. Spissu rescued UNICS with 3 consecutive three-pointers as the hosts soon took their first lead, 31-29. Austin Hollins and Kalinic stepped up for Zvezda but Spissu tied the game on a buzzer-beater, 43-43, at halftime. Tonye Jekiri and Andrey Vorontsevich pushed UNICS to a 65-56 advantage late in the third quarter. Stefan Markovic and Kalinic led the Zvezda comeback while Wolters and Hollins each hit a triple to give the guests a 71-78 edge with 3 minutes left, enough to control the game in crunch time.

White got Zvezda going with 4 quick points, including an alley-oop slam. Nate Wolters added a floater and Mitrovic hit a jump-hook to make UNICS call timeout at 0-9. Viacheslav Zaitcev struck from downtown and Andrey Vorontsevich matched Kalinic's jumper with a layup to calm the hosts. Zaitcev kept pacing UNICS and John Brown banked in a close shot for a 9-11 deficit. Kalinic buried a baseline jumper, igniting a 0-6 run that Dobric capped with a fastbreak layup off a steal. Jarrell Brantley and Ognjen Kuzmic traded layups, then Dobric buried a three-pointer that made it a double-digit game, 11-22, after 10 minutes.
Spissu struck twice from beyond the arc early in the second quarter and followed O.J. Mayo's jumper with a corner triple to get UNICS as close as 22-26. Wolters and Hezonja traded triples, then Mayo downed a mid-range shot for a 27-29 score. Hezonja took over with a driving layup and Jekiri's jumper gave UNICS its first lead, 31-29. Wolters hit a close shot and Hollins fired in a three-pointer and Kalinic added a layup-plus-foul to make Zvezda regain a 33-39 edge. Brown bettered Mitrovic's with a three-point play and Hezonja fired in a three-pointer that got the hosts within 40-43. Spissu sank his fourth bomb from downtown to tie the game, 43-43, at halftime.
Dmitrii Uzinskii took over with an up-and-under layup for UNICS soon after the break. Hezonja hit a jumper and Brown added a wild three-point play but Wolters kept Zvezda within 50-47. Kalinic nailed a close shot and Wolters erased Jekiri's layup with a floater. Brown followed a fastbreak slam with a layup in transition, then Hezonja swished a turnaround jumper that made it 58-53. Dejan Davidovac sank a triple for Zvezda, but Jekiri and Vorontsevich fueled a 7-0 run that boosted UNICS's lead to 65-56. Markovic struck from beyond the arc and Mitrovic added a fastbreak layup in a 0-7 run that gave Zvezda hope, 65-63 after 30 minutes.
Mitrovic scored again early in the fourth quarter and Kalinic added a one-handed jumper in the lane for a 65-67 Zvezda lead. Spissu fired again from downtown for UNICS, while Mitrovic answered with a jump hook. Mayo banked in a jumper for another lead change, 70-69, but when Kalinic nailed one three-pointer and fed Wolters for another, Zvezda was in front 71-75 and UNICS took a timeout. Next, Hollins and Hezonja exchanged bombs from downtown, then Kalinic buried a jumper that gave Zvezda a 74-80 margin with 2 minutes left. UNICS struggled to score when it mattered most and Wolters's driving layup sealed the outcome in the final minutes.
