Bako's career game in Madrid

Ismael Bako had a night to remember during Virtus Segafredo Bologna's 91-95 win over Real Madrid in the Spanish capital. Bako went 4-of-5 on two-pointers, which included a couple of monster slams, and made 8-of-11 free throws to finish with a career-high of 16 points. He also pulled down 4 rebounds and had a career-best PIR 22 in a big Virtus win. "I think it was a very big statement for me, because I wanted to prove that I can have a big role in the EuroLeague," Bako said after his performance.

Deck was Real's bright spot

In that same game, Real forward Gabriel Deck tied a career-best PIR of his own, 33. He scored a career-high 28 points, the most in Round 5 and a number which surpasses his previous personal best of 23, which he set back in 2019. Deck tied a career-best with 9 two-pointers made, with this coming from 12 attempts, and he set another record by going 7-fo-7 from the free throw line. He added 6 rebounds and 3 assists to his stat line before fouling out in the final minute of the game.

Bentil did work on the glass

Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade got its first win of the season against FC Bayern Munich on Friday, with Ben Bentil ruling in the paint. In 24 minutes on the floor, he pulled down 13 boards, the first time he has had double-digit rebounds in a EuroLeague game, and also dished 3 assists. It led to Bentil's first double-double, as he also scored 12 points, accumulating a career-high PIR of 22 in the process.

Strong effort from Evans

Zalgiris Kaunas failed to string together three wins in a row in Round 5, suffering its third road defeat against Partizan Mozzart Bet Begrade, yet Keenan Evans did his best to help Zalgiris stay in it until late in the fourth quarter. Evans dished a career-high 9 assists, while he drained 3-of-8 three-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points, 3 shy of a EuroLeague career-best for the second-year player.

Okobo carried Monaco to a big win

AS Monaco went into Piraeus and beat Olympiacos 76-81 thanks to an inspired performance from Elie Okobo, who scored a season-high 23 points. That is tied as his fourth-highest scoring game, and it is equal with his highest scoring output since November of last year. Okobo had 9 points to his tally going into the final minute of the third quarter against Olympiacos, but he scored 14 more the rest of the way. The 25-year-old, who played 25 minutes, made 4-of-5 two-pointers and 3-of-5 threes, as well as dishing 4 assists.

Brown shone brightest for Maccabi

Lorenzo Brown earned Round 5 MVP honors after leading Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv to an 85-74 win over the visiting Panathinaikos Athens, which improves the team's record to 4-1. His fingerprints were all over this game with 22 points, 9 assists, one shy of career-best, 6 rebounds and 2 steals for a PIR 33, tied for a career-high. From the floor he made 7-of-10 two-pointers and 2-of-3 threes. At the end of the game, Brown had +18 in the +/- column and was able to celebrate Maccabi's third consecutive victory.

Guduric caught fire from long range

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul won the Istanbul Derby on a night where Marko Guduric matched the best shooting night of his career. Guduric tied a career-high with 5 made threes on just 6 attempts. Three of those came early in the second quarter to give Fenerbahce the lead for good. Guduric finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 24 minutes on the floor.
