Two of the top blockers and the players who have been on court more for their teams this season, Mathias Lessort of Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and Jordan Mickey of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, will be central to their teams' clash on Thursday.
Marquee matchup: Partizan's Lessort vs. Virtus's Mickey
Lessort is playing 34:18 minutes per game, third-most among all EuroLeague players so far, and ranks second in total rebounds (9.3), offensive rebounds (5.7) and blocks (2.3) through three games. Add in his 13.3 points and Lessort now ranks third, too, in performance index rating (24.0). He and his team need a victory to show for all that work, though, and stopping Mickey will likely be one necessary ingredient to make that happen on Thursday.

Mickey has proven just as essential to Virtus so far, playing a team-high 29:02 minutes while anchoring his team's second-ranked defense with 1.7 blocks per game. Mickey has struggled with shooting, as his 42.1% on two points is well below Lessort's 65.4%, much like his 58.3% free throw shooting. The veteran center is scoring 8.7 points on average, but his main task will be containing the exuberant Lessort, and particularly keeping him away from the offensive glass so that Virtus has more possessions with which to smooth out its offense.
