The club expects him to miss the next three weeks
Tamir Blatt sidelined with hamstring tear
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv guard Tamir Blatt is expected to be out for the next three weeks after suffering a 'small tear in his hamstring,' the club confirmed on Monday.
With fellow backcourt player Rokas Jokubaitis also sidelined for another couple of weeks after breaking his thumb, Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash will have to heavily lean on new signing Saben Lee, as well as the experienced John DiBartolomeo and 18-year-old prospect Omer Mayer.
"Tamir Blatt, who was injured last night in the game against Gilboa/Galil, underwent an MRI today," read Maccabi's statement. "The guard suffered a small tear in the hamstring. Expected absence: about three weeks."
Blatt has enjoyed a red-hot start to the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, earning MVP of the Round honors in Round 1 and coming close to recording a triple-double in Round 4. For the season, he is averaging 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 9.0 assists and a 19.0 PIR.
