Game Leaders
Pivotal performer
Walter Tavares made the difference in the crucial moment of the game, but was consistent all game long. He finished the game with 13 points on 6-of-7 two-point shooting, 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocks, for a PIR of 29.
Game-changing moment
Real put up a basketball clinic in the opening 4 minutes of the fourth quarter. He was all over the place on defense and shared the ball almost perfectly on offense. Trey Thompkins sank a couple of three-point shots, Rudy Fernandez had 5 points and found Usman Garuba for a layup and added a steal which set up Nico Laprovittola for a layup. That 0-16 run put Los Blancos ahead for good.

Real finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds and those extra possessions allowed Los Blancos to get its comeback win.
Did you notice?
Riccardo Moraschini already had set a new career-high at halftime, 15 points. His previous scoring record in the EuroLeague was 12 points against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens earlier this season. Moraschini had a four-point play in the first half. He finished the game with 21 points.
Pablo Laso, Real Madrid
"I am very happy for the victory. I think that in the first half, the beginning of the game was not very good. We made a lot of mistakes in our game plan, but step by step we recovered and followed the plan that we had. I think our third quarter was pretty good, we didn't hit shots but we controlled Milan pretty well. And then in the last quarter, I think we hit open jumpers and I think that was the key to the victory, knowing that it is very difficult to win here against a great team like Milan. I think we played much better after halftime. I think we didn't play great basketball offensively because we missed shots, but we were playing correctly. And then when we started to make shots at the beginning of the fourth quarter, we made the difference. I am very happy for the victory, knowing that it was very difficult and our start was not very good, but we were able to turn the game around."
Ettore Messina, AX Armani Exchange Milan
"Congratulations to Madrid for the win. I think we competed at a good level for three quarters, and unfortunately, like it had been the story of this season so far in crucial moments, we didn't have any, let's say, accuracy on offense. We turned the ball over too many times and allowed them to come back quickly and at that point, their experience came out as a factor. We played hard one more time, but it was not enough because we didn't keep control of our offense and our defense down the stretch."
Walter Tavares, Real Madrid
"It is a great feeling because it is weird to play without [fans] and I think, for us, it was good because we needed this one. We played away from home, it is hard to win, but we did a great job today. It doesn't matter if I did good or bad, if the team wins, I am super happy."
Trey Thompkins, Real Madrid
"We just locked in and were able to make shots and get stops on defense [in the second half]. That's pretty much it. We have confidence in each other and knew that, at some point, we were going to make a run. We had a great run and made shots and finally, got a good feeling. It is important for me to make shots. My teammates expect me to do that, that's my job and tonight, I was able to make some in big moments."
Riccardo Moraschini, AX Armani Exchange Milan
"We missed a great opportunity. We started well, we played well most of the game, but early in the fourth we allowed a run that condemned us. This is where we need to improve, to eliminate these down moments."
