Team-orientated basketball led Zvezda to win over Monaco

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade thrashed AS Monaco 92-68 at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Thursday evening in its second-highest scoring game this season. One of the keys to the victory was the way in which Zvezda shared the ball, racking up as many as 28 assists during the game.
It was a completely different story for Monaco, however, as the visitors finished with 12. Leading the way in assists for Zvezda was Stefan Markovic, who dished a season-high 8 on his third straight start for the team. Despite the return of Luca Vildoza from injury, Zvezda head coach Dusko Ivanovic decided to stick with Markovic in the starting five, and it paid off.
Ognjen Dobric also had 5 assists to his name, while Luka Mitrovic and Nemanja Nedovic had 4 dishes apiece. Vildoza, who came off the bench late in the first quarter and played just over 16 minutes, had 3, the same total as Monaco's two leading providers on the night: Yoan Makoundou and Alpha Diallo.
Zvezda also won the game in other ways, such as hitting 15 of its 32 three-point attempts, but most of the good looks that the players had was thanks to the team's excellent ball movement on the night.
