Valencia Basket and playmaker Sam Van Rossom agreed to terms on a contract that keeps them together through the end of the 2022-23 season, the club announced Monday. Van Rossom (1.88 meters, 36 years old) will accordingly start his 10th consecutive campaign with the team. He averaged 8.8 points and 3.9 assists in 14 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, ranking sixth in three-point shooting (50.0%) and second in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.6). In his nine seasons with Valencia, Van Rossom helped the team win EuroCup titles in 2014 and 2019 and reach another final in 2017. He won the Spanish League with Valencia in 2017 and was named to the 2018-19 All-EuroCup Second Team.

Van Rossom has also played for Ostend of Belgium, Scavolini Pesaro of Italy and Baloncesto Zaragoza of Spain. In 113 EuroCup career games with Ostend and Valencia, Van Rossom has averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 assists. He ranks seventh all-time in the EuroCup with 378 assists and ninth in three-point shots made with 166. Van Rossom has also played 76 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games with Valencia, in which he's averaged 7.5 points and 4.1 assists. He also helped Ostend win back-to-back Belgian League titles in 2006 and 2007 and claim the Belgian Cup crown in 2008. He has been a member of the Belgian national team, too.
