The EuroLeague Basketball Legend will coach for the first time in Europe's premier club basketball competition
Vassilis Spanoulis exclusive interview: 'I missed the EuroLeague'
In the biggest news around the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this week, Vassilis Spanoulis is back in the competition – this time as a head coach – after signing a multi-year deal with AS Monaco.
Right after his first practice with the team, Spanoulis sat down to talk with Javier Gancedo of the Euroleague.net about a number of topics: his return to the EuroLeague, how important it was for him to get back to the EuroLeague in his own terms, and what led him to accept Monaco's offer in the middle of the season.
Spanoulis also talked about Mike James and his relationship with him, his coaching mentors and the tricky nature of the EuroLeague calendar. His first game will be against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens in the Greek capital, and his first home game will be against Olympiacos Piraeus, the club that retired his jersey over a year ago.
Don't miss the chance to hear Spanoulis's first thoughts as he opens a new chapter in his career.
