Menalo first featured in the Adidas Next Generation Tournament for U18 Cibona Zagreb of Croatia (2017-18) and U18 Stellazzurra Rome of Italy (2018-19 and 2019-20). In 11 games, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals. Menalo began his professional career with Roseto Sharks in the Italian second division in 2019, averaging 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 16 games. He then joined Stella Azzurra in 2020 and went on to play 48 games over the next two seasons. Yet, he shone brightest in his first year with Stella Azzurra, as he averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Virtus will be hoping that Menalo, a Croatia international at youth level, can recapture that form once again.
