Valencia Basket has been on a hot streak of late, having won five straight games before losing by 1 point to Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in Round 23. During that six-game stretch, homegrown swingman Josep Puerto played the best basketball of his career as Valencia improved to a 12-11 record.
In his first two seasons in the competition, Puerto made 27 appearances but played more than 10 minutes in only four games. The 23-year-old entered this season with totals of just 29 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
However, Puerto started to get more opportunities from the start of this season, playing more than 13 minutes in each of the first 11 games. His biggest contributions came on the glass, however, while he scored just 46 points in the first 17 games of the campaign.
