The Brazilian has signed a new three-year deal
Yago Dos Santos pens contract extension at Crvena Zvezda
Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade has confirmed that point guard Yago Dos Santos has signed a new contract, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Dos Santos (1.75 meters, 25 years old) played in his rookie Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season in 2023-24, averaging 8.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and a 9.1 PIR in 28 appearances for Crvena Zvezda. In his first year in Serbia, Yago lifted the triple crown: the ABA League, the Serbian League and the Serbian Cup.
The Brazilian playmaker joined Crvena Zvezda last summer and penned a three-year deal, meaning his contract was set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season. However, this new deal overwrites the previous one, meaning fans on the red-and-white half of Belgrade can continue to enjoy his play on the court for another three years.
Prior to joining Crvena Zvezda, Yago shined in the BKT EuroCup with ratiopharm Ulm. Having led Ulm to the EuroCup Quarterfinals, he had finished second in assists with 6.1 per game and eighth in average PIR with 17.6. Domestically, Yago was integral in helping Ulm win the German championship.
Back in Brazil, Yago started his career with Paulistano, where he played between 2016 and 2020, before heading to Flamengo. During his two years with Flamengo, he led the team to the BCL Americas title in 2021 and the FIBA Intercontinental Cup crown in 2022.
