Zalgiris forward Arnas Butkevicius to miss several months
Zalgiris Kaunas forward Arnas Butkevicius will miss the next 2-3 months of action due to a foot injury, the club announced on Sunday. The veteran suffered the injury during Thursday’s road win in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. After returning to Lithuania and undergoing further examinations by the club's medical staff, it was determined that Butkevicius would not need surgery, but the injury will take some time to heal.
Butkevicius has averaged 4.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 10 EuroLeague appearances this season, including four as a starter. He joins forward Brady Manek on the injured list; the latter could miss up to a month with a knee injury. In the meantime, new signing Edmond Sumner could make his Zalgiris debut later Sunday in the Lithuanian League against BKT EuroCup side 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys.
