Zalgiris inks scoring ace Tyrone Wallace
Zalgiris Kaunas has added scoring punch to its backcourt with the signing of guard Tyrone Wallace for the coming season.
Wallace (1.96 meters, 30 years old) averaged 17.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals over 19 BKT EuroCup games for Turk Telekom Ankara last season. He was third in the competition in scoring and seventh in steals.
In the Turkish League, he also posted 17.3 points, 5.1 boards, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals.
Wallace’s 576 points scored over the past two seasons were the second-most in the EuroCup. He played his first EuroCup season with Paris Basketball in 2022-23. That was his first season in Europe.
Back in his native United States, Wallace previously played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA and the Salt Lake City Stars, Agua Caliente Clippers, Long Island Nets and College Park Skyhawks of the G League.
