AS Monaco
With its basketball section dating back to 1928, AS Monaco boasts a long tradition in the sport. Monaco's first foray into international competition came with Korac Cup outings in the 1974-75 and 1982-83 seasons. The club dropped as far as the fourth division until a remarkable revival the last few years that led to its current golden period. Monaco made its BKT EuroCup debut in the 2018-19 campaign. Two years later, Monaco secured its first-ever continental title by defeating UNICS Kazan in the EuroCup Finals, as it progressed to the EuroLeague for the very first time. Monaco replaced Zvezdan Mitrovic with Sasa Obradovic during its debut EuroLeague campaign and went on to reach the playoffs in all four of its EuroLeague campaigns to date and made its first Final Four in 2023. Mike James was chosen as the 2023-24 EuroLeague MVP and the club claimed French League crowns in 2023 and 2024. Last season, Monaco hired coach Vassilis Spanoulis and went all the way to its first EuroLeague Championship Game, downing Olympiacos in the semifinals before losing to Fenerbahce in the championship game. The next goal is clear: Coach Spanoulis, James and Nikola Mirotic want to take Monaco all the way to EuroLeague glory in 2026!
