Valencia Basket
Valencia Basket is back in the EuroLeague and hosting games at its bran-new Roig Arena. Founded in 1986, Valencia claimed its first trophy, the Copa del Rey, in 1998. Soon the then-named Pamesa Valencia became a regular in the Spanish playoffs. In Europe, Valencia reached the Saporta Cup final twice, but lost in 1999 to Benetton Treviso and in 2002 to Montepaschi Siena. Everything changed for Valencia in the 2002-03 season. First came the EuroCup crown as it swept Krka Novo Mesto in the finals led by MVP Dejan Tomasevic. Valencia then climbed to the Spanish League finals before losing to Barcelona. In its debut EuroLeague season in 2003-04, Valencia reached the Top 16 and came within one win of the Final Four. A second EuroCup title came in 2010, as Valencia downed ALBA Berlin in the championship game with Matt Nielsen, Nando De Colo and Victor Claver as its main pillars. A year later, Valencia reached the EuroLeague Playoffs and lost to Real Madrid. Two more EuroCup championships came in 2014 and 2019. Valencia won its first Spanish League trophy in 2017, led by Bojan Dubljevic, Sam Van Rossom, Fernando San Emeterio and Rafa Martinez. Last season, Valencia reached the EuroCup Semifinals and the Spanish League finals. With an improved arena and a great fan base, Valencia is one of the teams to follow closely in the 2025-26 EuroLeague.
