EuroLeague Basketball is proud to announce unprecedented success across its digital and social media platforms during the 2025 Final Four, which was held for the first time in history in Abu Dhabi. This landmark event aligned with EuroLeague’s strategic priority of reaching new markets and audiences beyond its traditional scope, and the digital results further underscore the League’s growing global impact and strong engagement with fans worldwide.

In addition to the thousands of fans who packed the Etihad Arena from May 23 to 25, millions more, followed the final phase of the League from their devices through the League’s extensive social media ecosystem, bringing the League to reach new records.

Social media engagement soared to a historic high of 40.56 million, marking an impressive 81% increase compared to the previous season. This remarkable growth highlights EuroLeague’s powerful connection with its passionate audience and its expanding global footprint.

The League’s official accounts experienced double-digit growth across all key industry indicators, setting new benchmarks in digital sports media performance. Impressions and engagement remained the fastest-rising metrics, with 208.6 million impressions and 9.71 million interactions, representing 55% and 43% growth, respectively, from the 2024 Final Four.

One Team, BKT, and The Ricky Rubio Foundation refurbish historic Badalona basketball court

The goal of the One Team-BKT Legacy Project is to improve the lives of youngsters and people in need or at risk of exclusion by providing better facilities to play basketball and learn the life skills that come from sport’s values.

The refurbishment, which took place on June 24, is part of the ongoing One Team–BKT Legacy Project, which has seen basketball courts across Europe transformed into modern, welcoming spaces for local communities.

BKT, an multinational company that specializes in the production of off-highway tires and Euroleague Basketball’s Premium Partner, has been a driving force behind the One Team–BKT Legacy Project since 2021. When Ricky Rubio heard the idea, he immediately saw the potential to do more than just resurface a court. “We wanted this to be about more than basketball,” said Rubio. “The court has so much history for the neighborhood and for the city, and we wanted to turn it into something transformational for the next generation.”

With that in mind, the Ricky Rubio Foundation partnered with Institut La Riera, a nearby school. As part of their Community Service program, students got involved in every step — from digging into the court’s history to speaking with neighbors and players and even contributing to the court’s design.

That community-driven approach was backed by One Team, Euroleague Basketball’s social responsibility program. Since 2012, One Team together with its Founding Patron, Turkish Airlines has worked across Europe to support young people facing social challenges, using basketball as a tool for growth and inclusion.

With work set to begin later this month, the refurbished Canyadó court will soon be ready for the next wave of talent — and for many more kids to make memories of their own.

Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with SKY Italia, which will be the exclusive broadcaster of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup in Italy through the 2027-28 season.

Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with SKY Italia, which will be the exclusive broadcaster of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup in Italy through the 2027-28 season.

This renewed three-year agreement further strengthens the collaboration between Euroleague Basketball and SKY Italia, which has been the official broadcaster in the Italian market since 2021. Under the new deal, Sky will provide comprehensive coverage of all games featuring Italian teams in both competitions, broadcasting them live on Sky and NOW, along with at least two additional EuroLeague games per week. The deal was secured by Euroleague Basketball’s strategic partner IMG.

Sky’s coverage will extend beyond live games, with daily updates on Sky Sport 24, exclusive pre-game studio programs for each EuroLeague Round, and enhanced news coverage on [skysport.it](http://skysport.it) and Sky Sport’s official social media platforms, ensuring fans remain fully engaged throughout the season.

Euroleague Commercial Assets Board Addresses Strategic Developments for the Future of the Competitions

During the meeting, the Board approved the proposal to expand the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to 20 teams beginning with the 2025–26 season. This proposal will be submitted to the General Assembly for final ratification. 

In parallel, the Board agreed to present a preliminary list of proposed participating teams, contingent upon the completion of all required formalities.

The Board also held initial discussions regarding potential additional expansion scenarios for seasons beyond 2025–26.

- Olympiacos Piraeus has been sanctioned with a fine of €10,000, for the offensive chants by its fans, under Article 29.2.f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens has been sanctioned with a fine of €7,000, for the offensive chants by its fans, under Article 29.2.f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has been sanctioned with a fine of €5,000, for the offensive chants by its fans, under Article 29.2.f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Ergin Ataman, head coach of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, has been sanctioned with a fine of €10,000 for the undertaking of actions that cause the abnormal interruption of a game under Article 27.2.a) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code. 
- Mr. Dimitris Giannakopoulos, majority shareholder of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, has been sanctioned with a 5-game suspension to attend Euroleague Basket games and a fine of €10,000 for his threatening actions against the Euroleague Basketball referees under Article 27.1.c) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

Euroleague Basketball is pleased to welcome KTL Sports Flooring to its family of partners as the official supplier of basketball courts for the 2025 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in Abu Dhabi. Like everything else at the Final Four, the court that the players compete on will be world-class, both for the games at Etihad Arena and the NextGen EuroLeague competition at Mubadala Arena. 

KTL is a manufacturer of high-end wooden sports flooring, which EuroLeague players have already played many games on. KTL floors are used by EuroLeague clubs Real Madrid and Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz as well as by BKT EuroCup power Valencia Basket.

These wooden courts incorporate remarkable innovation. All the graphics, lines and paint are factory printed using laser techniques under the layers of sports UV lacquer, allowing the display of graphics never before seen on a traditional wooden court.
