ASVEL sinks Dubai for first win

U18 LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne used a strong the second half to beat U18 Dubai Basketball 75-87 and finish Group A of the NextGen EuroLeague Qualifying Tournament in Ulm with a 1-2 record, and will play in Sunday’s fifth-place game. Dubai finished group action with three losses and will feature in the seventh-place game.
Adam Atamna starred for ASVEL with 30 points and 10 rebounda. Marvyn Wade scored 18 and Christopher Goder 11 points in a victory. Tomislav Vuckovic was Dubai’s leader with 23 points and 6 steals, while Bogdan Zekavica had 16 points.
Dubai was in front the entire first half and hel a nine-point lead midway through the second quarter. Dubai was ahead 45-40 at halftime, but ASVEL turned things around, took the lead in the third quarter, then blew the game open early in the fourth thanks to a 2-16 run in the first five and half minutes of the quarter, paving the way to victory.
