Nolan Traore is now the record holder for most points in a single ANGT Finals game after he poured in 45 points in U18 PFBB INSEP Paris’s thrilling 101-96 victory over U18 FC Barcelona to send the French team to the ANGT Championship Game. 

Traore connected on 14-of-22 shots and 13-of-16 free throws while also picking up 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal and 10 fouls drawn for a PIR of 50. Traore’s scoring output surpassed the previous high of 39 points by Nikola Topic of U18 Crvena Zvezda Belgrade against U18 Real Madrid last season. 

“He had a fantastic game. He’s our leader. He played like a pro, and I am very proud of him,” PFBB head coach Lamine Kebe said of Traore, who last Sunday scored 25 points playing for Saint Quentin in the playoffs against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

“That was a great game from the start to the finish. I scored a lot of points but I am really just happy that we won,” said Traore.

About setting the record, he said: “It’s cool, but the only thing is we got the win. If I have to score 45 points then I have to score 45 points.”

Traore’s PIR of 50 tied him for fourth place in ANGT Finals history with Alessandro Piazza from 2005. Luigi Datome holds the ANGT Finals single-game PIR record with 54 in 2005. The all-time ANGT single game PIR record is Nikola Mirotic’s 84 in 2008-09.
