U18 PFYM INSEP Paris bounced back from its opening day loss at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals and blasted past U18 Maccabi Tel Aviv 107-46 for its first win in Group A. The two-time champion raced ahead with a 30-0 run in the first quarter and never looked back. Mael Hamon Crespin led the way with 25 points, Rayan Rupert hit for 20 points, Melvin Ajinca had 13 points and Mohamed Diakite chipped in 11 points off the bench. PFYM won the rebound battle 42-23, made 76.8 percent on two-pointers and forced 30 Maccabi turnovers. Maccabi dropped to 0-2 in the group despite Shachar Doron and Ido Iluz both picking up nine points in the loss.

Wilson Jacques scored the first points of the game for PFYM and Rupert knocked down the team’s first three-pointer for a 7-2 lead early on. Doron drained a triple of his own to make it 7-5 but PFYM reeled off 30 straight points including four three-pointers with Rupert and Hamon Crespin combining for 20 points for a 37-5 advantage. Doron ended the more than 7-minute drought with a triple at the first quarter buzzer and it was 37-8 after 10 minutes.
Jacques had the first four points of the second quarter before Roi Behar hit a three-pointer after nearly 3 minutes played for Maccabi’s first points. Hamon Crespin continued his dominance inside with nine points in a 17-1 PFYM run in pushing the lead to 58-12, and the score was 63-20 at halftime.
Tomer Agmon hit a three-pointer early in the second half but little changed in the flow of the game as PFYM scored 13 straight points for a 78-23 cushion. The advantage was as many as 58 points with the score being 86-30 after 30 minutes.
PFYM’s bench refused to let Maccabi cut into the lead and Nolan Traore increased the margin to 60 points- 90-30. Maccabi scored the next four points - the first time the Israeli team had two consecutive baskets in the game, which already had long been decided by then.
