U18 Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade guard Nikola Topic received the Most Valuable Player award of the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Belgrade for his record-setting performance despite his team losing to U18 Mega MIS Belgrade in the first place game.
Topic was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Filip Jovic of Mega, Sergio De Larrea of U18 Valencia Basket, U18 PFBB INSEP Paris's Noa Essengue and David Mirkovic of U18 Next Generation Team Belgrade.
Topic collected 18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals for a PIR of 12 in Zvezda’s 79-80 overtime loss to Mega. For the tournament, Topic averaged 26.8 points while shooting 52.9 percent on three-pointers and 32-of-33 free throws (97.0%), 3.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 6.2 fouls drawn for a PIR average of 33.5.
