Reigning champion Panathinaikos forced the final twist in a 76-81 road win at Fenerbahce and improved to 3-2 in the EuroLeague, snapping a two-game skid with a resilient performance. Having beaten the Turkish side 73-57 in last season’s semifinal, Panathinaikos continued to haunt Fenerbahce as player of the game Kostas Sloukas sank 13 points, including a clutch fadeaway three-pointer which gave the visitors the lead for good in a dramatic finish.
FC Barcelona 90-83 LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne
Barcelona had to battle hard as it downed the visiting ASVEL 90-83 on Friday night at Palau Blaugrana. This victory is Barcelona's fourth consecutive win, giving the Azulgrana a joint league-best 4-1 record, while ASVEL dropped to 2-3. ASVEL was in front for almost the entire first half, and the team traded leads throughout the third quarter before the visitors went up early in the fourth. But Tomas Satoransky, Kevin Punter and Jan Vesely hit key baskets down the stretch as Barcelona took over the lead and prevailed in the final minute.
FC Bayern Munich 84-80 Olympiacos Piraeus
Bayern is now a perfect 3-0 at SAP Garden, its brand-new arena, after edging Olympiacos Piraeus 84-80 in Round 5 of the 2024-25 EuroLeague season on Friday night. Bayern improved to 3-2 in the standings while Olympiacos dropped to 2-3. Carsen Edwards led the winners with 30 points on 10-of-14 two-pointers. Devin Booker added 20 while Nick Weiler-Babb and Shabazz Napier each had 10 for Bayern. Sasha Vezenkov was Olympiacos' leading scorer with 16 points. Tyler Dorsey added 12 and Moses Wright had 10 for the guests.

Zalgiris Kaunas 78-63 Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv
Zalgiris extended its winning streak to three games by defeating Maccabi 78-63 in Round 5 of the 2024-25 EuroLeague at a packed Zalgirio Arena on Thursday evening. The hosts led from start to finish, despite Maccabi’s efforts to get back into the game. With its second home victory of the campaign, Zalgiris improved its record to 4-1. Meanwhile, Maccabi’s second consecutive loss means that it dropped to 2-3.
AS Monaco 80-87 Paris Basketball
Paris emerged victorious from the first-ever EuroLeague meeting between itself and Monaco on Thursday night, winning 80-87 on the road in this week’s dedicated Rivalry Series game. TJ Shorts was integral throughout, while late plays by Mikael Jantunen proved crucial. Tiago Splitter’s Paris have now won back-to-back games and improved to 2-3, while Sasa Obradovic’s Monaco lost for the first time at home this season and dropped to 3-2.
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz 80-57 ALBA Berlin
Baskonia rebounded from its loss in Round 4 with a dominant 80-57 victory over ALBA to remain perfect at home this season. The Spanish side, which lost 76-69 at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in the last game, took control of the home showing against ALBA with a 15-0 run to close the third quarter for a 3-2 record - including 3-0 at the Buesa Arena. Markus Howard led the way in the win with 26 points including 7 three-pointers and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot had 11 points. Martin Hermannsson’s 16 points were not enough to keep ALBA from falling to 1-4.
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 84-96 Anadolu Efes Istanbul
Efes gained a second straight win and piled more misery on struggling Milan by holding on for a road victory, 84-96, on Thursday. Efes improved to 3-2, while Milan fell to 1-4. Efes raced into an early 8-point lead and never looked back, extending the margin beyond 20 points before halftime. Milan improved drastically after the break and got within 4 points with a 22-5 charge, but the visitors found fresh resolve to pull away again in the fourth. Efes, which lost Shane Larkin to injury, was led by Elijah Bryant with 19 points. Nikola Mirotic shined with 29 points for Milan.
Real Madrid 95-72 Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade
Real Madrid romped past Crvena Zvezda, improving its record to 3-2 while the visitors suffered a second straight defeat after winning their opening three games. Playmaker Facundo Campazzo led the way with 13 points and 6 assists, including a couple of audacious passes through the legs of rival players which had fans at Wizink Center on their feet. Dzanan Musa paced Real with 17 points. At the other end, veteran playmaker Milos Teodosic came off the bench to lead Zvezda with 11 points.

Virtus registered its first win of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season by edging Partizan 69-70 in the Serbian capital on Tuesday. Virtus improved to 1-4 in the standings, while Partizan dropped to 2-3. Will Clyburn paced the winners with 27 points, scoring the go-ahead layup with 12.5 seconds remaining. Isaia Cordinier added 12 and 10 rebounds, and Matt Morgan had 10 points for Virtus. Tyrique Jones led Partizan with 20 points and 5 steals. Iffe Lundberg added 14 points and Vanja Marinkovic had 10 for the hosts.
