Besiktas signs power forward Sleva

Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul bolstered its frontcourt by inking power forward Dustin Sleva, the club announced Wednesday. 

Sleva (2.03 meters, 28 years old) arrives from UCAM Murcia, where he averaged 9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and a PIR of 10.7 in 45 Spanish League games last season. He helped Murcia reach the Spanish League finals and finish third in the BCL. He raised his numbers in the Spanish playoffs, averaging 13.1 points and 5.5 rebounds in 11 games. He started his professional career with Paris Basketball of France and also played for Basketball Loewen Braunschweig before joining Murcia. Sleva made his BKT EuroCup debut with Paris, averaging 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 8 games in the 2022-23 season. He also helped Paris promote to the French elite in 2021.

Turk Telekom Ankara has announced the signing of [Vasilis Charalampopoulos](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/vasilis-charalampopoulos/004218/), who is the club's fifth addition to the roster this summer.

Charalampopoulos (2.02 meters, 27 years old) played for Dinamo Sassari in Italy last year, averaging 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29 Italian League games. He returns to the BKT EuroCup after last appearing in the competition in the 2021-22 season, when he suited up on two occasions for Umana Reyer Venice.

The Greek forward has also had six seasons in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, playing 26 games for Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens between 2013 and 2017, then 13 times for Olympiacos Piraeus between 2019 and 2021. 

Having made his professional debut with Panathinaikos in 2012, Charalampopoulos left the club in the summer of 2017 by joining PAOK. He went on to play for Lavrio in 2018-19 and spent the first half of the 2019-20 season with Ionikos Nikaias before joining Olympiacos, where he remained until the summer of 2021. 

Charalampopoulos split the 2021-22 campaign between Reyer and Fortitudo Bologna, both in Italy, and then stayed in the country for the next two years by playing for Pesaro (2022-23) and Sassari (2023-24).

Not only does Charalampopoulos return to the EuroCup, but he also heads to Turkiye for the first time in his career.

Robertson (1.87 meters, 30 years old) made his first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in 2023-24, averaging 4.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 30 contests for Valencia Basket. Domestically, he boosted his averages to 8.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 23 games.

One season before, in 2022-23, he was the Spanish League's top scorer while playing for Obradoiro, posting 17.4 points per game across 25 appearances.

Robertson made his professional debut with German side Medi Bayreuth in 2018-19, then spent the 2019-20 campaign with Fortitudo Bologna in Italy before joining Obradoiro in the summer of 2020. 

After a couple of years at Obradoiro, the Canadian started the 2022-23 season with Reggio Emilia in Italy, but he ended up returning to Obradoiro in December 2022. Then, last summer he signed for Valencia.

Now, Robertson heads to Joventut, the third team he will represent from Spain.

Veolia Towers Hamburg has bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Kur Kuath, who penned a two-year deal with his new club on Tuesday.

Kuath (2.08 meters, 25 years old) arrives from ICG Forca Lleida, where he averaged 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 39 Spanish second division games. He led the competition in blocked shots (1.3 bpg.) and helped Lleida gain promotion to the Spanish elite for the first time since the club was founded in 2012.

"I have been watching Kur throughout the season and was immediately impressed by his talent. He plays with a lot of energy at both ends of the court," Hamburg head coach Benka Barloschky said. After finishing his college career with Marquette University, Kuath played for GS Lavrio Aegean Cargo of Greece and Club Ourense Baloncesto of Spain before joining Lleida. He has also been a member of the South Sudanese national team.

Motley (2.06 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, where he spent the past two seasons. Motley averaged 11.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 18:43 minutes over 36 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He ranked fifth in the league in free throws attempted per 40 minutes (8.0) and was 14th in per-minute PIR (26.0) and two-point shooting (65.5%). Last season he reached his first Final Four and helped Fenerbahce win the Turkish League and Cup double.

Motley returns to the EuroCup, where he spent his first season in Europe with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. He dominated the 2021-22 EuroCup with 21.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in nine EuroCup appearances. Motley had an average PIR of 23.9 in those games and posted a PIR of 22 or higher in six different games, including a PIR of at least 36 in three games. He was twice the EuroCup MVP of the Round.

A standout college basketball player at Baylor University, he started his professional career with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA and also played for the Los Angeles Clippers as well as for Texas and Agua Caliente of the G League. Motley spent a season with Inchon ET Land Elephants in South Korea, too.

Aris Midea Thessaloniki announced the signing of power forward Georgios Giouzelis for the coming season. Giouzelis (2.04 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Apollon Patras, where he averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in a reserve role last season. A product of the Panathinaikos Athens youth system, Giouzelis has played professionally for Koroivos Amaliadas, Iraklis, Ionikos Nikaias, Karditsas and Peristeri Athens.

Aris Midea Thessaloniki announced the signing of point guard David DeJulius on Monday. DeJulius (1.83 meters, 24 years old) arrives from German club BG Goettingen, where he averaged 13.6 points and 5.1 assists in 20 games last season. He was 10th in the league in assists.

De Julius started the season in Greece with Lavrio where he produced 14.4 points and 3.6 assists in 13 games. Before that he played college basketball at the University of Michigan and the University of Cincinnati. The Detroit native will make his EuroCup debut this season with Aris.

Taylor (1.83 meters, 33 years old) averaged 13.0 points on 40.2% three-point shooting and 5.3 assists in 24 Turkish League games last season. It was his fifth season in Türkiye after playing for Pinar Karsiyaja (2019-2022) and Turk Telekom Ankara (2022-23). Taylor helped Turk Telekom reach the 2023 EuroCup Final. He averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 assists in 21 games as the team’s sixth man.

After playing college basketball at George Washington University, Taylor began his professional career with the Tulsa 66ers in the G-League. He first came to Europe in 2013 with Turow Zgorzelec, which he led to the Polish League championship on his first season and then played in the EuroLeague with in his second. Since then Taylor has suited up for SIG Strasbourg in France, Banvit Bandirma in Türkiye and Virtus Bologna in Italy. He helped Virtus win the Basketball Champions League in 2019.

Blayzer played in the EuroCup in 2019-20 with Maccabi Rishon Lezion. He debuted in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague the following season with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Blayzer appeared in a total of 46 EuroLeague games over two seasons with Maccabi.

Blayzer began his professional career with Hapoel Afula and also played for Bnei Herzliya and Maccabi Haifa. His trophy case includes three Israeli Cups – one with Rishon and two with Jerusalem – plus the 2021 Israeli championship won with Maccabi. He has also played dozens of times for the Israeli national team.

The 2015 Conference USA player of the Year in his senior season at Louisiana Tech University, Smith began his professional career in Latvia with VEF Riga and has since played for Los Angeles and Grand Rapids in the G League, Szolnoki Olaj in Hungary, Spirou Charleroi and Giant Antwerp in Belgium, Maccabi Haifa in Israel and Rytas Vilnius in Lithuania. He helped Rytas win the Lithuanian championship in 2022. Smith played in the 2020-21 EuroCup with Antwerp and averaged 15.0 points and 5.9 assists over nine games.

Homesley was an All-EuroCup Second Team selection in his first season in the competition with Hamburg Towers. He finished fourth in the 2021-22 EuroCup in scoring with 17.4 points per game. 2024-25 BKT EuroCup Draw: Criteria and procedure

The excitement for the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup season will start to build on Friday, July 5, as the annual draw takes place in Barcelona, Spain, to divide the 20 participating teams into two regular season groups. The draw will begin at 12:45 CEST and can be followed live on the competition's official website, as well as via the [EuroCup’s official YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@BKTEuroCup).

The draw will be held according to seeds.

- The 20 qualified teams will be divided into 10 seeds with two teams in each, in accordance with the Club Ranking elaborated for this purpose.
- The performance of teams in Euroleague Basketball competitions during a three-year period will be used. Each club will get 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie or loss from the Regular Season onwards. 2 bonus points are allocated for reaching the last 16, 2 bonus points are allocated for reaching the last 8, 1 bonus point is allocated for reaching the last 4, 1 bonus point is allocated for reaching the Finals. The Club Ranking consists of the sum of the club coefficients from the last three years. The results of the worst performing team from each country/League will be added together every year to create a position for that country/League in the Club Ranking. This is the lowest possible position that any club from that country/League can occupy in the draw.
- If two or more teams have the same Club Ranking, the tie will be resolved by the total number of wins during the three-year period. Should a tie persist, the final standings in the EuroLeague and if necessary EuroCup from the previous season will be used to break the tie. Should a tie persist, the final standings in the Domestic Championship from the previous season (after the playoffs) will be used to break the tie. Should a tie persist, a draw will be used to break the tie, with the Company determining the method for the draw.
- The first two teams from the Club Ranking participating in the Regular Season will be 1 Seeds, the next two 2 Seeds, the next two 3 Seeds, the next two 4 Seeds, and so on until the 10 Seeds are completed.

### GROUP DRAW RESTRICTION

The restriction when drawing the teams into groups is the following:

- Two teams from the same domestic league cannot coincide in the same Regular Season group, except when there are more than two teams from the same domestic league participating in the Regular Season. In this case, the draw will try to balance the amount of representatives in each Group until it is physically impossible to preserve the Group Draw Restrictions without blocking the draw.

### GROUP DRAW PROCEDURE

- Teams will be drawn one by one from an urn containing only teams in the same Seed, from the 1 Seeds through to the 10 Seeds, until all 20 teams have been selected.
- The first team drawn will be allocated in the Group A and therefore, the other team in the seed will be allocated in Group B.
- In case of a country restriction, either team can be directly allocated in one Group so the other team in the seed will be allocated in the other Group.
- A team may be placed directly into a Group to follow the restriction mentioned above.

Drawing the teams as explained above will eliminate all possibilities of a blocked situation.
