[Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/panathinaikos-aktor-athens/pan/) has locked down one of its core veterans by signing forward [Konstantinos Mitoglou](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/konstantinos-mitoglou/profile/007866/) to a contract extension through the 2028-29 season. 

Mitoglou (2.10 meters, 29 years old), a veteran of seven EuroLeague seasons, has played all but one of them with the Greens, which he helped to the EuroLeague crown in 2024. He has posted 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in seven EuroLeague so far this season and has averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 177 career EuroLeague games with Panathinaikos.

A native of Thessaloniki, Mitoglou played for Asteria and Aris in his hometown before heading to the United States to play college basketball at Wake Forest University. He returned to Greece in 2017 when he signed with Panathinaikos and has been there ever since, spare the 2021-22 campaign with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

Mitoglou has won four Greek championships and two Greek Cups with Panathinaikos and the 2021 Italian League with Milan. He has also represented Greece at both the Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup.

Hapoel earned a well-deserved 97-84 win over Partizan after a smooth team effort saw as stack of home players finish in double figures, with the table-topping Israeli side improving to 6-1 while the Serbian outfit dropped to 3-4. Collin Malcolm paced Hapoel on 17 points, Dan Oturu netted 14 and Antonio Blakeney poured 13 while Chris Jones sank 12. Sterling Brown led the way for Partizan on 19 points and Duane Washington added 15.

Hapoel kept nosing ahead in a physical first quarter and forged a 25-19 lead after the opening 10 minutes, courtesy of late three-pointers from Malcolm and Blakeney, while Dylan Osetkowski carried Partizan as he netted 8 points. The visitors conjured a 0-11 run to turn the tide early in the second quarter as the introduction of Arijan Lakic and new signing Bruno Fernando beefed up its defense, leaving Hapoel scoreless for almost 5 minutes. However, the hosts responded with their own 10-0 streak and Hapoel came out on top, 43-42, in a rollercoaster first half. 

Hapoel pulled away in the third quarter and carved out a 70-63 advantage ahead of the final 10 minutes on the back of a treble of three-pointers from Ish Wainright, giving the Israeli side its biggest lead of the night up to that point. Five unanswered points gave Hapoel a double-digit lead early in the fourth and there was no way back for Partizan after a pair of three-pointers from Chris Jones gave the home team an 83-69 lead midway through the period.

Monaco used the best scoring night of Alpha Diallo’s career and a double-double from Mike James to edge Olympiacos 87-92 in Round 7's Rivalry Series game on Wednesday night at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. 

In the return of coach Vassilis Spanoulis to Piraeus, it was a defensive-minded Diallo who scored a career-best 27 points on 11-of-13 field-goal shooting, while James had 23 points and 10 assists as Monaco improved to a 4-3 record. Olympiacos also sits at 4-3 record after a loss in which Tyler Dorsey netted 23 points while Sasha Vezenkov scored 17 points.

Zalgiris held off a late charge from Virtus on Tuesday evening to grab an 86-65 win at Zalgirio Arena, with Sylvain Francisco running the show for the Lithuanian side. After getting off to a red-hot start, Zalgiris cooled off in the second and third quarters, which allowed Virtus to enter the final frame trailing by single digits. 

Two Matt Morgan scores pulled Virtus within 4 points in the fourth, but Francisco stepped up once more by netting 13 fourth-quarter points and dishing 4 more assists to make things comfortable once again for Zalgiris, which won its second straight game. Tomas Masiulis’s men are now 5-2, while Dusko Ivanovic’s Virtus saw its three-game winning streak come to an end as it fell to 4-3. 

Francisco had a 23-point, 10-assist double-double, and he was one of five Zalgiris players who scored in double digits. Moses Wright paired 14 points with 8 rebounds, Dustin Sleva netted 13 points, Deividas Sirvydis poured in 11, and Azuolas Tubelis finished with 10 points and 7 boards. For Virtus, Morgan scored 19 points and Alen Smailagic added 12. Carsen Edwards was held to just 9 points.

Crvena Zvezda grabbed its fifth consecutive EuroLeague win by downing LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 79-65 in the Serbian capital on Tuesday. Zvezda improved to 5-2 in the standings and is 4-0 since Coach Sasa Obradovic joined the team. ASVEL dropped to 2-5 and is 0-3 on the road this season.

Chima Moneke paced the winners with 24 points on 8-of-8 two-point shooting, 7 rebounds and 3 steals for a PIR of 35. Semi Ojeleye and Ognjen Dobric each added 11 for Zvezda. Melvin Ajinca paced ASVEL with 13 points while Mbaye Ndiaye added 10. 

ASVEL trailed 24-23 early in the second quarter before an outstanding Moneke fueled a 10-0 run that put Zvezda on the right track, 39-25, at halftime. The hosts managed to keep a double-digit lead throughout the second half to cruise to another victory.

FC Bayern Munich got back to winning ways by beating Real Madrid 90-84 on Tuesday night at SAP Garden. In a game of runs, the hosts started strong and took an early 13-2 lead. *Los Blancos* bounced back and went on a 2-15 surge in the second quarter to take a 44-57 cushion into the second half. 

Bayern responded with a 13-3 spurt and outscored Real Madrid 25-10 in the third, securing a 69-67 edge with 10 minutes to go. The German side hit the ground running again in the fourth and took an 82-72 lead with 6 minutes left. Real Madrid fought back in the closing stages, but the hosts absorbed its last comeback attempt. Bayern improved to 3-4, with the Spanish side dropping to the same record following their fourth straight defeat.

Isiaha Mike netted a career-high 29 points for the winners, with Xavier Rathan-Mayes scoring 14 against his former team and Oscar da Silva completing a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Trey Lyles paced Real Madrid with 20 points, while Theo Maledon and Walter Tavares scored 15 and 13, respectively.

Panathinaikos ground out a 99-85 home win over Maccabi in a spectacular clash as Kendrick Nunn shined for the home side with a game-high 22 points. Cedi Osman netted 20 and Omer Yurtseven added 16 to go with a career-high 13 rebounds. At the other end, Jaylen Hoard posted 15 points and 9 boards, while Jimmy Clark scored 14 points.

In a fast-paced start, Panathinaikos carved out a 15-9 lead on the back of 5 points from Osman as well as 4 each by Nunn and Yurtseven. The advantage soon soared to 22-14 as the fired-up Osman kept delivering for the hosts, but Maccabi turned the tide and was 24-25 ahead at the end of the first quarter as Clark netted from inside his own half on the buzzer. The high-scoring battle continued in the second quarter as both sides stayed prolific from long range, with Clark carrying Maccabi while Osman was unstoppable at the other end. Maccabi took a 47-49 lead into the locker room at halftime thanks to 12 points from Clark and 10 by Roman Sorkin.

Nunn kept Panathinaikos afloat in the third quarter as he caught fire from all over and the hosts flipped the script with a 9-0 streak to nose ahead 64-60 midway through. Panathinaikos was 68-66 in front ahead of the final 10 minutes, with 11 points in the third quarter. The home team took the game by the scruff of the neck in the final 10 minutes, engineering a 12-0 run to take an 83-71 lead and out the game beyond Maccabi’s reach.

FC Barcelona held on to a dramatic 74-72 win over visiting EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on Tuesday night. Milan had the last possession, but all the visitors could do was see Shavon Shields come up short with a long three-point attempt, as Barcelona prevailed and improved its record to 4-3. Milan dropped to 2-5 on the season.

Points were few and far between in the fourth quarter, which Barcelona took by the score 11-10. When all was said and done, Will Clyburn finished as the top scorer with 17 points, Jan Vesely had 14 while Kevin Punter netted 13. Tomas Satoransky had 11 points and 7 assists in a victory. For the visitors, Armoni Brooks scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half, and Shields scored 12 in defeat.

Efes got back to winning on Tuesday night by downing Paris 80-90 on the road. The Turkish side – which had head coach Igor Kokoskov ejected for 2 quick technical fouls in the third quarter – held Paris to a season-low 39 first-half points and did a good job of keeping Nadir Hifi quiet throughout, with the French guard shooting 2 for 16 from the field. After back-to-back home losses in Rounds 5 and 6, Efes notched its second road win of the campaign to improve to 3-4. Paris, meanwhile, dropped to 4-3. 

Shane Larkin led Efes with a game-high 19 points, while Ercan Osmani was the contest’s second-highest scorer with 18 points. Jordan Loyd and Isaia Cordinier added 14 points apiece, and Rolands Smits netted 11. Despite a torrid night from the field, Hifi made all 13 of his free throws en route to 17 points, the same total as Sebastian Herrera. Justin Robinson and Yakuba Ouattara poured in 13 points each.

Tarik Biberovic paced Fenerbahce with 18 points, scoring 16 of those in the fourth quarter. Now, the star point guard is reuniting with the coaching master to bring his experience and leadership to a [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/) team that aims to reach the top.

Partizan announced that it has signed Calathes (1.96 meters, 36 years old) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The playmaker arrives from [AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/as-monaco/mco/), where he had made three appearances in the French League this season, but had yet to appear for the club in the EuroLeague. Last season, he averaged 3.7 points and 3.8 assists in 17 EuroLeague games with Monaco.

Partizan will be the fifth EuroLeague club for Calathes, who after debuting with Panathinaikos Athens also played for FC Barcelona and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul before signing with Monaco. Known for his elite court vision, defensive instincts, and leadership, Calathes brings over a decade of EuroLeague experience to Partizan. In that time, he has built a historic resume.

Calathes is the EuroLeague all-time leader in assists (2,135) and steals (460). He is second in competition history with 318 games started ninth in PIR (4,298) and ninth in games played (371). With 1010 two-point baskets, Calathes is also one away from the top 10 in that category, too. He is one of two players - [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) being the other - with over 1,000 career points, rebounds and assists.

A EuroLeague champion in his second pro season with Panathinaikos in 2011, Calathes has gone to the Final Four with every team he has played for and reached the championship game with Panathinaikos, Barcelona and Monaco.

He is a two-time All-EuroLeague First Team selection and was named the 20212-13 EuroCup MVP after leading Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar to the championship in that competition. Calathes has also won seven national championships and six national cups in his career.

Born in Florida and a naturalized Greek international, Calathes has represented Greece in multiple international tournaments, including the Olympic Games and the Basketball World Cup. He helped Greece to the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2009.

Sometimes a spark could be enough to turn a team’s season around, and [FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fc-bayern-munich/mun/) will hope that Tuesday’s comeback win over [Real Madrid](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/real-madrid/mad/) is the right step in that direction. 

Two straight EuroLeague defeats were followed by a loss at rival ALBA Berlin in the German League last weekend, with Bayern struggling to build momentum in the opening stages of the 2025-26 campaign.

Then came that spark in the form of a relentless [Isiaha Mike](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/isiaha-mike/011836/). 

The Bayern forward produced a historic outing against *Los Blancos*, inspiring the hosts to a 90-84 victory at SAP Garden.

The German side hit the ground running with a 13-2 run, but Real Madrid fought back and secured a 44-57 lead at halftime. Ghosts from last week’s thrashing at the hands of Olympiacos Piraeus were coming back to haunt Bayern, but this time Mike was having none of it.

Having already scored 15 in the first half to keep his team in the game, the 28-year-old netted 5 straight points to open the third quarter, kickstarting Bayern’s comeback. Mike went on to add 7 more points to his tally, with the hosts taking a 69-67 edge heading into the closing quarter. Real Madrid pushed for a late comeback, but Bayern never looked back.

“We were struggling, man,” Mike told EuroLeague TV after the game. “We were struggling lately and finally we had a third quarter where we responded after going down big. It felt good to finally get some energy, being down in the hole like that. We were giving up a lot of easy baskets inside \[in the first half\]. So we just became more physical \[in the second\], stepped over a bit more in the help side. Tried to take away their size advantage and get on to transition. And it worked for us.”

After holding the guests to just 10 points in the third quarter, Bayern outscored them 21-17 in the fourth to clinch the comeback victory. Mike provided the spark, with [Xavier Rathan-Mayes](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/xavier-rathan-mayes/013378/), [Kamar Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kamar-baldwin/012597/) and [Oscar da Silva](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/oscar-da-silva/011244/) chipping in to down Real Madrid.

“We did a really good job tonight of being resilient, fighting adversity,” Rathan-Mayes said after the game against his former team. “Obviously, the start of the season wasn’t what we wanted it to be. We’ve continued to stick together with this group of guys, this group of brothers has been really good in sticking together and making sure that the energy is positive. We are on the same page together.”

Rathan-Mayes nailed a triple and a layup before drawing an offensive foul at the other end and producing back-to-back assists to open the fourth quarter in style. Baldwin stepped up to make it 77-72 and Da Silva came to the fore to open a double-digit lead (82-72), as Real Madrid struggled to find answers against Bayern’s small-ball.

“We talked about it this morning,” head coach Gordon Herbert told the post-game press conference. “We were down. We were going through some adversity, some failures.”

Mike recorded career highs in points (29), rebounds (7), two-pointers made (6) and free throws made (8). Having lit the fuse for the team’s fightback against Real Madrid, the Bayern forward will look to bring that same energy into Thursday’s home clash against Virtus Bologna. 

The match has been set alight and as Herbert stressed after Tuesday’s duel “sometimes you’ve got to go through \[adversity\] to get where you want to get to.”

Baskonias suffering is finally over thanks to Luwawu-Cabarrot’s strong second half

[Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/timothe-luwawu-cabarrot/012080/) did his best Superman impression in the second half of [Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/baskonia-vitoria-gasteiz/bas/)’s home game against [Dubai Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/dubai-basketball/dub/) and showed why he is one of the top players in the EuroLeague this season.

The Frenchman poured in 22 of his 25 points after halftime, including knocking down 5 of his 6 three-pointers in a 92-85 home victory - Baskonia’s first of the season.

“Everybody chipped in today. It was an amazing win. Amazing team chemistry. We showed a lot of resilience. Going 0-6 is tough mentally. We showed today that we can do good things in our home. I am very proud of this team, very proud of us,” said Luwawu-Cabarrot, who struggled over the first 20 minutes.

Baskonia built up a 9-point lead in the first quarter and the gap was 10 points early in the second quarter. But Paolo Galbiati’s team trailed 41-42 at the break.

Baskonia was down 44-49 early in the second quarter when Luwawu-Cabarrot drained 4 three-pointers in helping the team surge ahead 64-58. Luwawu-Cabarrot added a driving layup and three-pointer in pushing the cushion to 81-68.

It was actually a 15-point lead (86-71) with only 2:38 minutes left when Dubai put a real scare into the hosts. Filip Petrusev, who finished with 22 points, sparked a rally to trim the gap within 88-85 inside the final minute.

Luwawu-Cabarrot ended any doubts, though, with 2 free throws with 30 seconds remaining to ice the game.

“This one was very important for us, for our confidence. We are very happy. Also happy that this is a double week so that we can use this win to keep going and keep building for the season,” said the 30-year-old French forward.

Hamidou Diallo continued his strong first season in Europe with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

“It was a must-win, do whatever it takes, grind it out. And that’s what we did tonight. We get to celebrate this one,” the American forward said. “This is the kind of team we are. You don’t know whose night it is going to be. That’s why we have to prepare the little things every day and keep trying to stack good days on top of this one.”

The victory was not only Baskonia’s first of the season but it was also the first EuroLeague win as head coach for Galbiati, who made the jump after coaching the last two seasons with BKT EuroCup side Dolomiti Energia Trento. But he talked about his players.

“I am happy for the players. They suffered a lot. I saw their frustration over the weeks. And I am very happy for them,” said the 41-year-old Italian.

Led by Luwawu-Cabarrot and his hitting 6 of 11 three-pointers, Baskonia shot 40 percent from long range - much better than its average of 31.8%, which ranked 17th in the league.

At the other end of the ball, Baskonia came into the game dead last in defensive scoring and opponent’s PIR - with the 85 points and 86 index rating well below the team’s season averages of 96.0 and 108.2, respectively.

Baskonia started the season with three losses by 7 points or fewer and then dropped its last three in double figures. But that losing is over. And the team hosts Anadolu Efes Istanbul on October 31 in the second of three straight home games.

As Luwawu-Cabarrot said, this is a great chance for the team to keep the momentum going.

The last couple of games have been rough for [Anadolu Efes Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/anadolu-efes-istanbul/ist/), but the two-time EuroLeague champion was able to get back on the right path in Round 7 after beating [Paris Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/paris-basketball/prs/) 80-90 on the road.

Plenty of excitement surrounded Efes following its 78-82 triumph at Olympiacos Piraeus in Round 4, particularly as coach Igor Kokoskov’s men had two straight home games coming up. However, its Round 5 clash against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens was marred by the ACL injury suffered by center Georgios Papagiannis, then Round 6 saw Efes fall to Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in the Istanbul derby. That made Tuesday night’s clash at Paris a must-win.

“To get a win tonight feels really well. We’ve had a lot of turmoil, a lot of obstacles in our way this season, but at the end of the day no one’s going to make excuses for us,” admitted star guard [Shane Larkin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/shane-larkin/007200/) when talking to EuroLeague TV after the game. “The fact that we were able to come together, even when Coach gets kicked out the game, we were able to pull together and get a big win.”

It was Larkin who really helped Efes get over the line. With Paris starting to find some momentum, the two-time All-EuroLeague guard stepped up in the fourth quarter, helping Efes go from being up eight (63-71) to up 17 after scoring nine straight points.

First was a long two (63-73), then the classic Larkin change of pace before a finger-roll layup (63-75), followed by a push shot (63-77), and a three-pointer (63-80). In just over two minutes, Larkin took over and put Efes in a commanding position.

There was the expected response from Paris, largely through the on-fire [Sebastian Herrera](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sebastian-herrera/012611/) and the misfiring [Nadir Hifi](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nadir-hifi/012640/), who was 2 for 16 from the field but 13 for 13 from the free-throw line, yet Efes had a big enough lead that it never really felt in doubt.

“Being able to play well on the road is important in the EuroLeague,” added Larkin. “Being able to get road wins is challenging because the home crowds are always tough.

“I think nine of our first 13 games are road games, so the more we can win on the road and start the season in a strong stretch, it benefits us in the long run. Congrats to the team for pulling together in a tough game and tough atmosphere and getting the win.”

Efes is now 2-1 on the road this season and next faces Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain on Friday, which sees Larkin return to the club where he made his EuroLeague debut in 2016-17. Paris will hope for a quick response when it travels to take on EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on Thursday.

And such was the case on Tuesday night at Palau Blaugrana, where [FC Barcelona](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/fc-barcelona/bar/) held on for a dramatic 74-72 win over the visiting [EA7 Emporio Armani Milan](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/ea7-emporio-armani-milan/mil/).

“We had to get into a dogfight,” is how [Will Clyburn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/will-clyburn/004888/) best put it in a EuroLeague TV post-game interview. “We had to fight for it today.”

Clyburn was the game’s top scorer with 17 points, including a runner high off the glass that put Barcelona up 73-69 with 29 seconds to go.

It was far from over, however, as [Armoni Brooks](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/armoni-brooks/013384/) answered with a three-pointer 4 seconds later, and after Milan’s defensive stand, the visitors had a possession to win it. But it was Barcelona’s defense that once again showed up on this night, and Shavon Shields’s game-winning three-point attempt was well off the mark.

“We have a lot of vets on this team, a lot of guys who played in a lot of big games. We came out in the second half with some fire, and got the win”, Clyburn added.

That fire was, actually, nowhere to be found in the first two quarters, as Milan opened a 30-41 lead. But Barcelona finished the second quarter with back-to-back threes from Miles Norris and a buzzer-beating dagger from Clyburn to cut the margin to 5 points.

The hosts then exploded for 28 third-quarter points, but were trailing until a three-pointer from Clyburn tied it at 54-54, and a triple from [Tomas Satoransky](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tomas-satoransky/002939/) on the hosts’ next possession gave them their first lead of the night, 57-56 with 3 minutes to go in third quarter.

In a curious turn of events, Milan never led again, even though Barcelona never led by more than 4 points.

“The last quarter finished 10-11 and we played good defense in the last situation”, said coach Joan Penarroya after the win. His team entered round 7 ranked fourth in the league with 90.2 points, but won this battle with its defense. “I am happy because I think we improved on defense. We kept playing, insisting on playing good defense, and I think it is the first time that in the last quarter we allowed only 11 points.”

“We really want to improve our defense,” Satoransky explained. “That’s the main focus of what we want to improve. I think we stepped up in that category... The last quarter was 10-11, so you have to win it by big plays on defense, I think we did it for the first time this year.”

After a 15-point home loss against Zalgiris Kaunas, Barcelona now travels to Belgrade with a 4-3 record as it faces Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade. Milan will have its chance to bounce back, and improve from its 2-5 record, when it welcomes Paris Basketball.
