Sportradar dives into the most-productive players on offense in the EuroLeague so far this season.

Stats review: Who are this season's top offensive engines? 

There is still very little relief for teams across the EuroLeague landscape as two wins separate the top and bottom spots in the playoff picture after five teams weathered the two-round week without a loss. The league’s parity is especially unforgiving for the players carrying the heaviest offensive burdens for their respective teams. 

The table above lists the top players in points created, which combines point scored, points assisted, and points generated by passes out of on-ball actions that are not direct assists. At age 35, Mike James is not only playing the largest offensive role in the EuroLeague early on, but he’s having a standout year even by his lofty standards, looking more assertive using the threat of his jumper to attack the rim, where he’s been rock solid with his decision-making. His efficiency has been in line with his 2023-24 MVP campaign despite how much more frequently he’s looked to play downhill.

Nadir Hifi has carried a similar burden for Paris while doing far more scoring than passing. His 11.7 points per game looking for his own offense in pick-and-rolls is not only more than double the 5.1 per game he averaged a year ago, but sits ahead of TJ Shorts’s EuroLeague record from last season. Stepping into an extreme role even for a player at the apex of usage after creating only 19.4 points per game last season, the way Hifi has handled his transition on the ball has been key to Paris’s early wins.

Sylvain Francisco and Codi Miller-McIntyre are both interesting entries on this list as they may not do an overwhelming amount of scoring relative to the other players included, but that duo ranks among the top three players in points created with passes out of pick-and-rolls.  Even when they do not generate direct assists with those passes, the pressure they put on opposing defenses often leads to points for teammates, even if weakside defenders manage to extend back out to contest the first pass in time. Francisco’s ability to get downhill one-on-one and Miller-McIntyre’s knack for orchestrating fast breaks are notable as well.

Wade Baldwin and reigning MVP Kendrick Nunn round out the players doing the most for their teams offensively, thus far.  Baldwin is the lone non-starter on this list and while his athleticism makes him very productive off the bench, he can still change the complexion of a game entirely when he finds his range.  Nunn, on the other hand, has been selective, looking to let his teammates shine when Panathinaikos has a big lead, but also taking over on several occasions as well.

Shane Larkin and Jordan Nwora have been dynamic for Efes and Zvezda, respectively, and their return to action figure to be key storylines for their respective clubs. 

It is one thing to play a big role at a high level, but the burden the players above are carrying should not be understated. Serving as the focal point of what a team is doing offensively in this version of the EuroLeague comes with massive expectations as the parity demands both efficiency and a unique level of consistency.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul has confirmed that team captain Shane Larkin will be out for the next eight weeks with a groin injury.

Larkin suffered the injury during [Efes's Round 11 win against FC Bayern Munich](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/cordinier-career-night-helps-efes-off-set-larkin-injury-snap-losing-skid/) last Friday night.

"Our captain Shane Larkin, who suffered a tendon injury in the left groin area during the FC Bayern Munich game we played yesterday, will be away from the court for approximately eight weeks," Efes confirmed in a statement.

A season-best performance in a winning effort allowed Isaia Cordinier to reach Round 11 MVP honors with a PIR of 29. Cordinier led Efes to a 74-72 home victory over FC Bayern Munich with 26 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and five fouls drawn for a PIR of 29, the highest among players in winning teams in Round 11. It is second MVP of the Round achievement of Cordinier's career.

It is Cordinier's second MVP of the Round achievement, previously earning the award in Round 17 of the 2024-25 season, playing for Virtus Bologna. Cordinier is the first Efes player to earn MVP of the Round honors in the 2025-26 campaign.

Walter Tavares of Real Madrid amassed a PIR of 30 in his team's 77-87 home loss against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens. Tavares had 20 points on 7-of-9 two-pointers and 6-of-8 free throws, plus 10 rebounds, two steals, a block and five fouls drawn. Elijah Bryant of Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv and Tyler Dorsey of Olympiacos each recorded a PIR of 28 in Round 22. Bryant did it in a 74-68 losing effort against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, scoring 19 points on 4-of-5 three-pointers and 5-of-5 free throws, along with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and 10 fouls drawn. Dorsey amassed a PIR of 28 in his team's 88-87 road loss against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. He had 27 points on 7-of-7 two-pointers, 4-of-6 three-pointers and 1-of-1 free throw. plus 5 rebounds. Alec Peters, also of Olympiacos, and Aleksa Avramovic of Dubai Basketball, each with a PIR of 27, complete the top individual performances in Round 11.

### Individual highs: Codi Miller-McIntyre of Zvezda, 10 assists and 4 steals

Alec Peters of Olympiacos Piraeus was this round's top scorer, getting 27 points in an 88-87 road loss against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. Nadir Hifi of Paris Basketball remains the competition's overall top scorer at 21.4 points per game.

Juancho Hernangomez of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and Jaylen Hoard of Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv each grabbed 11 rebounds. Nikola Milutinov of Olympiacos leads the overall standings at 8.1 boards per night.

Codi Miller-McIntyre of Zvezda dished 10 assists, more than anyone else in Round 11. He is also first overall with an average of 6.9 assists in 11 games.

McIntyre and Armel Traore of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne each collected four steals to lead Round 11 in this category. Hifi also ranks first in steals at 1.7 per night.

Aleksej Pokusevski of Partizan Mozzart Bet had 4 blocks in this round, twice as many as anyone else. Tavares is the competition's best shot blocker at 1.9 per game.

Miller-McIntyre, Hoard, Tavares and Mfiondu Kabengele of Dubai Basketball all recorded double-doubles in Round 11.

Battling ASVEL overcome adversity to snap four-game losing streak

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne ground out a hard-fought 88-87 home win over Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade on Friday, snapping a four-game losing run and improving to 3-8 after the team's pack leaders stepped up to the plate in crunch time.

Glynn Watson sank a clutch three-pointer with 23 seconds left which gave the hosts an 83-79 lead, and 37-year old veteran David Lighty made a pair of free throws with the clock ticking, forcing Partizan into submission after a rugged contest.

Partizan, whose patchy form continued much to the frustration of head coach Zeljko Obradovic, dropped to 4-7 as the absence of big man Tyrique Jones forced a small-ball unit which was blown away by ASVEL'S flying start.

The home team raced into a 16-2 lead as it forced a barrage of turnovers from Partizan, but the Serbian side recovered and was able to nose ahead in the fourth quarter, only to see the French team force the final twist thanks to Watson and Lighty. The latter, who has spent a decade in two stints with the club, drew enviable praise from head coach Pierric Poupet, who couldn't stress enough the enormity of Lighty's impact on and off the court.

"David Lighty is ASVEL and ASVEL is David Lighty," Poupet said in his postgame comments. "He is a legend, a great human being, a great teammate and a great captain."

Poupet went on to commend his team for staying strong after Partizan had turned the tide, eking out the win in the face of adversity with several key players out injured.

"It's a good win, especially with the many injuries we are facing at the moment," he emphasized. "The team is exhausted and the effort they put in today was amazing. Sometimes resilience and hard work pays off and congratulations to the guys, I am very happy for them."

Lighty sank 16 points and stood out alongside Watson and Zachary Seljaas, who paced the home team on 18 points each. Seljaas credited Watson for showing nerves of steel when the chips were down, stressing that the outcome should boost ASVEL's confidence ahead of its upcoming challenges.

"It was the energy that we wanted from the start and we wanted to keep going," Seljaas said.

"We lost it a little bit at the end of the third and early in the fourth quarter, but we were able to get it back and make tough shots, playing as a team. A shoutout to Glynn Watson for stepping up and hitting some big shots in the end. We are resilient as we were able to go out there and fight adversity, come together in hard times, and it's only going to help us in the long run."

Watson, in turn, singled out Shaquille Harrison for a telling contribution of 12 points on his return from injury, giving ASVEL the impetus it needed to prevail in a titanic tussle.

"My team believed in me, giving me the ball and telling me to be aggressive," Watson said. "We had to keep fighting as every game is a new opportunity. We just have to keep stepping up to the plate like we did tonight, and Shaq gave us that spark."

Obradovic lambasted his troops for what he described as an unprofessional attitude. "It was a great opportunity for us to win but we made very bad decisions offensively at crucial moments," said the winner of a record nine EuroLeague titles with five different clubs.

"It is simply unacceptable how we played and the fans who came here to support us deserve better. Some of the players are behaving in a totally unacceptable manner - they were more focused on their mobile phones an hour before the game than on the game itself. No excuses, we have five days to pull our socks up."

Hundreds of Partizan fans made the trip and, although outnumbered, they matched the home crowd tit-for-tat with vocal support throughout the contest. However, it was the home faithful who did all the singing and dancing after ASVEL served up a memorable win.

Quinn Ellis steps up as depleted Milan stuns Olympiacos

Injuries and illness forced EA7 Emporio Armani Milan to take to the Unipol Forum floor on Friday night without as many as six players.

Zach LeDay, Shavon Shields, Josh Nebo, Nate Sestina, Ousmane Diop and Lorenzo Brown were all sidelined, with head coach Ettore Messina also missing out through illness for the second game in a row.

Hence, Milan needed to dig deep in its bid to beat an Olympiacos Piraeus side that came into the clash on the back of five victories in their previous six games. And dig deep they did.

Using a nine-man rotation, assistant coach Peppe Poeta saw his players hit the ground running by netting 27 points in the first quarter against one of the stingiest defenses in the league. An exchange of blows in the second saw the hosts retain a 47-43 cushion at halftime, having gone 12-for-17 from inside the arc and 7-for-14 from deep.

“\[Milan\] came out with a blast, playing with amazing physicality, speed and, of course, confidence,” Olympiacos boss Georgios Bartzokas admitted in the post-game press conference. “In the first half, they shot 80% on twos and 50% on threes and had 5 offensive rebounds.”

And then came Milan’s dominant third quarter. The hosts again started fast, going on an 11-1 surge inspired by a red-hot Armoni Brooks, who drained one from behind the rainbow to make it 61-48. Led by Alec Peters and Tyler Dorsey, Olympiacos slightly trimmed the deficit to 67-56 heading into the fourth quarter.

Then a 2-9 run by the guests saw Dorsey bring his team within 75-72. Enter Quinn Ellis, who came to the fore when it mattered the most, making some clutch buckets to help Milan maintain the lead. Back-to-back pull-up triples from Ellis made it 81-74, before Olympiacos again fought back and turned it into a one-possession game (84-82) with 47 seconds left.

But a smart cut from Ellis left Dorsey behind, with the Milan guard receiving an excellent dish by Leandro Bolmaro to net inside for an 86-82 cushion.

“This kid \[Ellis\] is shining so much and he just deserves it the way he works hard, the way he does things,” Poeta told EuroLeague TV. “He deserves to play at this stage, this level. He is just an amazing kid.”

After Ellis’s burst of scoring, Stefano Tonut and Marko Guduric scored from the charity stripe to practically put the game to bed, clinching a huge 88-87 victory against all odds. Ellis stood out with a career-high 16 points, 9 of which were scored in the closing quarter. He also registered 5 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 block in a complete outing.

“The guys were amazing,” Poeta added. “They played an unbelievable game against probably one of the top three teams in the league. We shot with confidence, we played at a good pace, we led for 40 minutes and we were clinical at the end, when they hit some tough shots, by not panicking and keeping on playing.”

Milan also outrebounded Olympiacos 32-29, recording 11 offensive boards and grabbing 12 second-chance points. Hustling for every ball on both ends of the floor, they also had 5 steals and outscored the visitors 14-2 in fastbreak points.

“We played a tough team like Olympiacos, but we stuck together, we played for 40 minutes, stuck to the game plan,” Ellis told EuroLeague TV. “We fought for every rebound, hustled on defense and everyone had each other’s back. That was the key to the game.”

Milan is expected to gradually welcome back players from injuries as they take on Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv next week. But regardless of who plays, looking to extend their winning streak to five games, the Italian side just needs to approach every game with that same mentality that helped defeat Olympiacos despite key absences on Friday night.

Barca's strong fourth quarter leads to seventh win

It was not an easy EuroLeague double-round week for FC Barcelona, but interim head coach Oscar Orellana survived it with flying colors.

After edging FC Bayern Munich 74-75 on the road on Wednesday, Barca rallied to beat Virtus Bologna 88-81 at Palau Blaugrana on Friday. Coach Xavi Pascual is now set to start his second stint with the club with a 7-4 record in the EuroLeague Regular Season.

Above all, Barca fought back when Virtus was showing its best version. A poor third quarter put Barca on the ropes and when Aliou Diarra dunked, Virtus led 61-69 with nine minutes left. Barca needed answers on defense and to recover its shooting touch on offense - after hitting 8-of-12 three-pointers in the first half, Barca had gone 0-of-7 from downtown in the third quarter. The home team succeeded at both ends, finding its scoring rhythm and playing defense with much higher intensity, backed by a great crowd.

Dario Brizuela provided the fireworks with a bomb from beyond the arc, and Joel Parra soon added back-to-back three-pointers to quickly put Barca back in charge, 70-69. It was the start of a game-changing 16-0 run which Tomas Satoransky capped with another triple. Barca managed to keep Virtus scoreless for over 5 minutes, in which the guests missed six shots and picked up four turnovers. But the Italian team then fought back, as Momo Diouf and Matt Morgan brought their team as close as 83-80 in the next-to-last minute.

From 61-69 to 77-69 in the fourth quarter. 

Barcelona's game-saving 16-0 run

Barca needed a clutch player and found one in Will Clyburn, who buried a critical three-pointer over Diouf's defense to make it 86-80 with 51 seconds left. When Clyburn then collected a steal at the other end, Barca was well on its way to its seventh victory.

The hosts had fought hard for the win, and its fourth quarter numbers were excellent. Barca grabbed as many as nine offensive rebounds in the final 10 minutes, had 6 assists and just one turnover. Virtus, meanwhile, struggled to score in the final period, missing of its three shots from downtown and picking up six turnovers after limiting those to just seven in the opening 30 minutes. Barca fans bought into the team's hustle, heart and winning mentality, staying really active throughout and rewarding the team with a huge ovation at the end of the game.

Kevin Punter led the winners with 17 points on 5-of-6 three-pointers. Clyburn added 13 and Jan Vesely had 12, but Barca fans left with the feeling that everyone contributed to the victory.

"We owe these fans good basketball games, so I was glad we were able to take care of home court against a good Virtus team and we just got to keep building off this." Punter said after the game. "We have to take it week by week, day by day. Don't try to look too far ahead, just stay in the moment and just keep building."

As for Coach Orellana, he is expected to resume his assistant coach duties once Coach Pascual joins the team on Monday, after a week he will never, ever forget.

"It was surely was the most emotional and also the toughest week of my life, I am sure, but I'm lucky because I had a team that played amazing, that fought for every f---ing ball, so I'm really proud of this team," he said. "On Monday, we talked to the team and we said 'OK guys, now we need to take one step ahead, everybody, talking about responsibility, individually and as a team.

“We talked about commitment and pride, and I think this message we sent to the players was perfect because they understood it really, really well and that's why we won the games."

After Larkin suffered an apparent groin injury late in the first quarter, it was the French guard who not only stepped up but also bounced back with 26 points in Efes’ 74-72 win over FC Bayern Munich.

“We needed that one,” said Cordinier, referring to Efes having lost the previous three games and five of the last six, before now improving to 4-7.

“The atmosphere was great to help us get going. We stayed together down the stretch, that is what was most important. In the last games, when the other team had runs, we kind of shut off, but today we regrouped and stayed together and finally got the win that we needed.”

Cordinier registered a new personal scoring record with his 26-point outburst. He also contributed 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for a PIR of 29. And all that came after he had combined for 4 points and a -3 PIR over the last two games.

“I tried to stay ready. We have so much talent on this team. Anybody can have a night like that,” Cordinier said. “Unfortunately with Shane out, I wanted to be a little more aggressive offensively and just be me. I just try to be me, take what the game is giving me and try to make winning plays.”

Efes head coach Igor Kokoskov said he and his coaching staff were prepared for a lot of things, but not losing Larkin.

“It’s no secret that Shane Larkin is the face of the franchise. He’s our best player and main offensive weapon. We were not prepared for losing Shane Larkin. But the game is so fast, and our mantra for this whole season is ‘Next man up’,” Kokoskov said.

“When your best player leaves the game, a lot of guys have to step up. Somebody has to take more responsibility and that was Cordinier tonight.”

Kokoskov was happy his team finally broke through to win a game - though there were plenty of chances to decide it earlier.

“The effort was there. We played hard. We have to play smarter. We have way too many turnovers. On two occasions we were up by 15. With a couple of smart decisions, we should be up 20 and just close the game way earlier to not give them a chance to come back,” the coach said.

Efes reeled off a 16-0 run to lead 16-5, but soon the game was tied 19-19 and Bayern was up 26-27. The home side recaptured control and built a 48-34 cushion early in the third quarter. After Bayern fought back to make it 52-46, Efes once again thought it had grasped control with a 62-47 advantage early in the final quarter. But Bayern raced back with three three-pointers and eight points from Oscar da Silva, closing the gap to 68-64. A triple and later free throw from Stefan Jovic had Bayern within 74-72 inside the final minute.

But in the final possession, Spencer Dinwiddie missed a three-pointer, Vladimir Lucic’s put-back attempt was just off and Efes escaped.

Bayern’s assistant coach TJ Parker, who was filling in for ill head coach Gordie Herbert, knows there were good and bad parts of the game.

“We fought in the fourth quarter. Not much to say about the beginning of the game. We were down 15 points and we came back. That is always a good sign,” said Parker, whose team was playing the first of seven consecutive road games in the EuroLeague.

Isiaha Mike’s 15 points and 11 from Dinwiddie were not enough as Bayern was swept in the double round to fall to 5-6.

The game was played at the Antalya Sports Hall in Antalya as part of Efes’ wider strategic initiative to expand the club’s reach beyond Istanbul.

“We are ready and focused for every game but I could tell it was something special - a change of environment, coming to Antalya, feeling the fuel coming from the fans and the energy from the crowd. That helped us a lot,” Kokoskov said.

Bayern just miss coming back from 15 down in fourth.
