His fourth-quarter barrage etched his name in EuroLeague history
Jared Butler made history against Paris despite Crvena Zvezda defeat

The end result wasn’t what Jared Butler or Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade hoped for, but the guard still delivered a historic performance in his team’s Round 18 loss to Paris Basketball on Tuesday night.
Paris secured a 102–92 victory after taking a commanding 21-point lead (79-58) into the fourth quarter. If not for Butler’s late heroics, the margin could have been far more lopsided.
Butler exploded for 22 points in the fourth quarter, the second-most points scored in a single quarter in EuroLeague history since the stat began being tracked in 2007-08. The only player to score more is Carsen Edwards, who poured in 26 third-quarter points for FC Bayern Munich in a 93-90 loss to Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv last season.
Those 22 points helped Butler finish with 31 for the game – a season high for any Crvena Zvezda player and tied for the second-most in club history. Jordan Loyd previously scored 31 points in an 86-84 win over CSKA Moscow during the 2020-21 season. The club’s single-game scoring record belongs to Lorenzo Brown, who had 34 points in an 88-81 victory over Olympiacos Piraeus in 2019-20.
Butler’s performance was further evidence of his rapid adjustment to EuroLeague play. He scored 20 points in Round 15 against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, followed with 27 in Round 16 against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv and now topped both with 31 against Paris.
Crvena Zvezda has won just one of its past five games, but Butler’s emergence as a legitimate offensive weapon during that stretch could pay dividends as the Serbian club looks to regain momentum in the EuroLeague playoff race.
