Euroleague Basketball has announced that ticket sales for the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens Presented by Etihad will begin on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

The 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Semifinals will take place on Friday, May 22 at 18:00 and 21:00 Local Times (17:00, 20:00 CEST), while the Championship Game will tip off on Sunday, May 24 at 21:00 Local Time (20:00 CEST). Fans who secure tickets will also enjoy access to the adidas NextGen EuroLeague Championship Game (18:00 Local Time, 17:00 CEST), which will replace the traditional third-place game at Telekom Center Athens before the EuroLeague Championship Game.

For the first time, and in anticipation of exceptionally high demand, Final Four tickets will be released in four public phases. Each phase will feature a limited allocation of tickets across multiple price categories, giving fans several opportunities to purchase and ensuring broader access.

Fans who purchased tickets for the previous three Final Fours, will enjoy exclusive 24 hours access to a pre-sale starting on Tuesday, February 10 at 10:00 CET. The first public sale phase will open on February 11 at 10:00 CET, giving all fans their first chance to secure seats for Athens.

The second phase of ticket sales will open on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 CET, following the close of the final player registration window. This timing ensures that fans will have a clearer picture of each team’s finalized roster when purchasing tickets.

A third ticket sales window will open on Tuesday, March 17 at 10:00 CET, offering another opportunity for fans to secure their seats for the Final Four. The final sales phase will launch on Monday, April 20 at 10:00 CEST, positioned between the conclusion of the Regular Season and the start of the Play-In Showdown, with ten teams still in the race for a place in the Final Four.

These phased sales are designed to expand opportunities for the EuroLeague’s growing global fan base to attend what is expected to be a highly sought-after event. This structure provides multiple chances for fans to secure tickets, whether they plan to attend regardless of which teams qualify or prefer to wait until the competition moves into its decisive stages.

General public tickets include access to all four games, the two Semifinals on Friday, 18:00 (17:00 CEST) and 21:00 Local Time (20:00 CEST), plus the EuroLeague Championship Game, 21:00 Local Time (20:00 CEST) and adidas NextGen EuroLeague Championship Game, 18:00 Local Time (17:00 CEST) on Sunday.

Ticketing information is available at <https://euroleaguef4tickets.com/en/>. Fans must log in or create a EuroLeague ID account to complete their purchase. Once logged in, all available categories will be displayed. Due to expected high demand and to ensure fairness, each fan may purchase a maximum of four tickets. Fans who purchase tickets in one phase will not be eligible to purchase tickets in subsequent phases. Prices range from €399 to €952 depending on the category and phase.

Customers who are unable to attend the event may list their tickets for resale through the official EuroLeague fan-to-fan marketplace, which will open after the second general public sales phase. Any fan can sell its tickets only at the same price it was purchased, guaranteeing that if the ticket is successfully resold, the exact originally paid amount will be refunded to the seller. Using the official marketplace ensures valid tickets, secure payments, and guaranteed refunds. This is the only safe, secure, and authorized secondary market channel for the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four.

Chus Bueno named new Euroleague Basketball CEO

Euroleague Basketball announced on January 30, that Jesus “Chus” Bueno will be appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective in the coming days. This decision reflects the Board’s continued focus on strengthening the organization’s governance and ensuring the effective execution of its strategic vision for the future.

Bueno, 56, was unanimously elected by the Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA) Board of Directors and will succeed Paulius Motiejunas, who was named CEO in June 2023. Chus Bueno will lead Euroleague Basketball’s overall strategy, with a strong focus on business growth, enhancing the game and fan experience, and expanding into new markets and audiences, while maximizing the value delivered to clubs, partners, players and fans. His mandate is to continue building on the success achieved over the past 25 seasons and to further position the EuroLeague, the BKT EuroCup and the NextGen EuroLeague as the undisputed premier basketball competitions in Europe.

Bueno brings more than 30 years of experience and strategic leadership within the professional sports ecosystem. His career has been closely linked to basketball, both on and off the court. He made his professional playing debut with FC Barcelona during the 1988–89 season and went on to compete for eight seasons with five additional clubs, including Atlético de Madrid and Valencia Basket. Following his retirement as a player, Bueno transitioned into executive and management roles within the basketball industry.

He began his off-court career at the Spanish Basketball Players Association (ABP) before joining the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) in 2006 as Executive Director. During his tenure, the Spanish National Team experienced one of the most successful periods in its history, winning the 2006 FIBA World Championship and the 2009 EuroBasket, as well as earning silver medals at the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2007 EuroBasket.

Bueno later joined the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he served as Vice President, Europe, Africa and Middle East, and Managing Director of NBA Spain. After 12 years with the NBA, he moved to Legends, the global leader in venue management and hospitality, where he was Managing Director of the company’s Iberian operations.

Most recently, Bueno led the creation and development of the basketball vertical at DAZN, the global sports OTT platform, further reinforcing his expertise in media, digital transformation, and fan engagement within the modern sports landscape.

EuroLeague TV has secured the streaming rights to the Italian Basketball League (LBA) for the remainder of the 2025–26 season, further expanding its live basketball offering across multiple international markets.

Under the agreement, EuroLeague TV will stream three games per Regular Season Round of Serie A Unipol, as well as all LBA Playoffs Unipol games and the Frecciarossa Final Eight 2026, making the competitions available for free to all EuroLeague TV subscribers. The streams will debut with the Regular Season Round 18 matchups between EA7 Emporio Armani Milan -Germani Brescia and Virtus Bologna – Dolomiti Energia Trento on Sunday, February 1.

The coverage will be accessible across Turkiye, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.

A Euroleague Basketball delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Paulius Motiejunas met on Thursday with the European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glenn Micallef, at the European Union headquarters in Brussels.

 

During the meeting, the Euroleague Basketball delegation briefed Commissioner Micallef on the latest developments of its competitions, the EuroLeague, the EuroCup and the Under-18 Adidas NextGen EuroLeague. The discussion also outlined the organization’s strategic vision for the coming years, with a particular focus on expanding its reach and impact in key European markets such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom, amongst others.

 

The meeting provided an opportunity for an in-depth exchange on the role of basketball within the European sports model, highlighting its strong community impact and reinvestment, continuity and competitive credibility, as well as the retention and reinvestment of value within Europe.

 

Mr. Motiejunas and Commissioner Micallef also shared ideas on the existing challenges that basketball and European sport currently face and agreed on the need to maintain a close cooperation and an open discussion to improve the entire basketball ecosystem, fuel future growth of the sport, and remain true to European sport values and identity.

Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade has been sanctioned with fines amounting €21,500 due to the lighting of flares and the throwing of objects onto the playing court on occasion of the game Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade – Olympiacos Piraeus, under Article 29.2.d) and g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

**Round 19**

- Virtus Bologna has been sanctioned with a fine of € 5,000 due to incidents generated by the public on occasion of the game Virtus Bologna – EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, under Article 29.2.g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Mr. Ergin Ataman, coach of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, has been sanctioned with a fine of €5,000 for comments regarding the officiating performance Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens – Olympiacos Piraeus, in accordance with Article 24.2.c) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

**Round 20**

- Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade has been sanctioned with fines amounting €25,000 due to incidents generated by the public on occasion of the game Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade – Valencia Basket, under Article 29.2.f) and g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code. This decision triggers the suspended sanction of an 80% limitation capacity in the club’s next home game, imposed on 10 December 2025.through Disciplinary Decision 18/2025-26.
- The protest filed by Zalgiris Kaunas on the scoresheet of the game Virtus Bologna - Zalgiris Kaunas has been dismissed.

Euroleague Basketball has announced the following disciplinary decision pertaining to incidents that occurred in Round 19 and Round 20 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season

The EuroLeague Regular Season Round 24 matchup between Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv will be played in Munich, at BMW Park, on Friday, January 23. 

The game originally scheduled to be played in Belgrade has been relocated to Munich due to Belgrade Arena unavailability as per the celebration of the 2026 European Water Polo Championships for Men.

- Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade has been sanctioned with a fine of €59,000, for the repeated misuse of laser devices, object throwing, lighting of torches, chanting of offensive slogans, and inadequate control of court access allowing unauthorized entry on occasion of the game Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade – Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, under Articles 29.2. d), 29.2 e), 29.2 f), 29.2 g) and 29.2 h) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade has been sanctioned with a fine of €28,000, and the away game corresponding to Round 19 without away fans for Crvena Zvezda, for displaying an oversized flag blocking the scoreboard, chanting offensive slogans, and lighting and throwing torches after the game, requiring intervention from security and firefighters on occasion of the game Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade – Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, under Articles 29.1. g), 29.2 f) and 29.2 g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

**EuroLeague Round 16:**

- Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has been sanctioned with a fine of €12,000, for offensive chants and courtside seats' protests on occasion of the game Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul - Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, under Articles 29.2. f) and 29.2 g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Olympiacos Piraeus has been sanctioned with a fine of €5,000, for offensive chants on occasion of the game Olympiacos Piraeus - Valencia Basket, under Article 29.2. f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade has been sanctioned with a fine of €7,000, for the throwing of objects on the court, for which the game had to be stopped for around one minute on occasion of the game Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade – Virtus Bologna, under Article 29.2. g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

**BKT EuroCup Round 11:**

- Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has been sanctioned with a fine of €7,000, for the throwing of objects on the court, for which the game had to be stopped for around one minute on occasion of the game Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana – Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem, under Article 29.2. g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
- Buducnost VOLI Podgorica has been sanctioned with a fine of €10,000, for excessive complaints made by Mr. Andrej Zakelj and Mr. Suad Sehovic after the game Dolomiti Energia Trento - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, under Article 27.2. b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

**Expansion and Participating Teams**

Following [the Board’s approval to expand the EuroLeague to 20 teams](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/news/euroleague-commercial-assets-board-addresses-strategic-developments-for-the-future-of-the-competitions/) starting with the 2025–26 season, the Assembly approved the official list of participating clubs for both the EuroLeague and the BKT EuroCup.

**EuroLeague Teams (Alphabetical Order):**

Anadolu Efes Istanbul, AS Monaco, Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, Dubai Basketball, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, Paris Basketball, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, Real Madrid, Valencia Basket, Virtus Segafredo Bologna, and Zalgiris Kaunas.

**Long-Term Wildcards**

The Assembly approved the allocation of long-term wildcards to the following clubs:

- **Three-year duration:** Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, Valencia Basket, Virtus Segafredo Bologna
- **Five-year duration:** Dubai Basketball

These wildcards aim to ensure the League’s long-term sustainability and support its strategic expansion to 20 teams. By fostering stability for participating clubs, the League reinforces its commitment to developing long-term projects across both established and emerging markets.

Additionally, it was agreed to continue conversations with Paris Basketball around a potential long-term collaboration.

**2025–26 Season Calendar**

The Assembly of Syndicated Shareholders has officially approved the competitive calendar for the 2025–26 season. The EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup will tip off on September 30, 2025, with champions to be crowned on April 28 or May 1, 2026 for the EuroCup and on May 24, 2026 for the EuroLeague.

As part of the EuroLeague’s expansion to 20 teams, the Regular Season will increase from 34 to 38 rounds, offering fans even more high-level basketball throughout the year. The season will open with an action-packed double-Round week, setting the tone for what promises to be a thrilling campaign.

Additionally, games during November FIBA Qualifiers (windows) will be moved to Tuesday and Wednesday, in order to facilitate the availability of players to their National Teams.

**2026 and 2027 Final Four**

The Assembly reviewed the ongoing process for awarding hosting rights for the 2026 and 2027 EuroLeague Final Four editions. Discussions with candidate cities are progressing, with final decisions expected soon.

As part of the updated EuroLeague By-Laws, the Third-Place Game will be removed starting with the 2025–26 Final Four, which will now feature the two semifinals and the championship game.

**Competitive Balance Standards (CBS) Updates**

In preparation for the 20-team format, and to adapt the existing regulations to the expanded league ECA shareholders approved several enhancements to the Competitive Balance Standards, forming part of the broader Financial Stability and Fair Play framework. The CBS will be in force starting the 2025-26 season and will be progressively implemented, culminating in a full implementation by the 2027-28 season:

Key updates include:

**Base Remuneration Level (BRL):** Minimum set at €10 million net, up from €8 million net, applicable unless 40% of the Average Licensed Clubs Defined Revenues (ALCDR) falls above this threshold.

**Anchor Player Exception:** Clubs will now be permitted up to three designated anchor players under the BRL framework, increased from two.

**Transitional Financial Compensation Cap:** For the 2025–26 and 2026–27 seasons only, clubs exceeding the BRL will face a financial maximum compensation cap of 10% of their total net player remuneration for the relevant season.

**Extended Tenure Player Exception:** Deduction rate increased from 25% to 50%.

These changes aim to ensure financial sustainability, promote fair play, and maintain competitive balance as the EuroLeague continues its growth and evolution.
