Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade

Crvena Zvezda, known worldwide by the translated name ‘Red Star’, was founded in 1945 and immediately started its domination with 10 straight domestic championships. Zvezda won a half-dozen trophies in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including a national championship and the 1974 Saporta Cup – its lone European trophy to date. However, Zvezda had to wait until 1993 to win another piece of silverware, the first of the three Serbia and Montenegro championships, before returning to prominence at the continental level in 2006 and 2007 with ULEB Cup quarterfinals appearances. In 2013, Zvezda won its first of three consecutive Serbian Cups, and a year later made its EuroLeague debut, as well as advancing to the 2014 EuroCup semifinals. That turned out to be a sign of things to come. All under the guidance of head coach Dejan Radonjic, Zvezda won its first triple-crown, lifting the ABA League, Serbian League and Serbian Cup trophies in 2015. The following season, 2015-16, saw Zvezda take another step forward by advancing to the EuroLeague Playoffs, where it put up a great fight against eventual champion CSKA Moscow. While continuing to grab domestic silverware at a rapid rate, including four more triple crowns in 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2024, Zvezda continued to be competitive in the EuroLeague, although it often came up just short of the playoff places. With the arrival of the maestro Milos Teodosic in the summer of 2023, Zvezda stated its ambition to take another step forward on the EuroLeague front and reach heights it has never reached before.
