Bahcesehir re-signs forward Tyler Cavanaugh
Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul continued strengthening its roster ahead of its BKT EuroCup return by re-signing power forward Tyler Cavanaugh for another season, the club announced Monday. Cavanaugh (2.06 meters, 30 years old) averaged 15.5 points on 47.1% three-point shooting and 5.5 rebounds in 29 Turkish League games last season. He posted similar numbers - 14.9 points on 43.5% and 5.9 rebounds in helping the team reach the FIBA Europe Cup final.
Cavanaugh started his professional career with the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA and also played for Erie Bay and Salt Lake City of the G League, the Utah Jazz in the NBA, ALBA Berlin of Germany, Tenerife of Spain and Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania. Cavanaugh helped ALBA win the German League in 2020 and won a Lithuanian League and a Lithuanian Cup in his two seasons with Zalgiris. In 63 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague career games with ALBA and Zalgiris, Cavanaugh averaged 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds. He is set to make his EuroCup debut with Bahcesehir in the 2024-25 campaign.
