Umana Reyer Venice added experience to its backcourt by inking guard Davide Moretti to a two-year deal, the club announced Saturday.

He started his career with Stella Azzurra of his native Italy and also played for Giorgio Tesi Group Pistoia and Treviso Basket 2012 before joining Texas Tech University. Moretti went on to play for EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, where he made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in the 2020-21 season, and Carpegna Proscuiutto Basket Pesaro before joining Varese in 2023. Moretti has also been a member of the Italian national team. He helped Milan win the Italian League in 2021 and made it to the NCAA Tournament championship game with Texas Tech in 2019, scoring 15 points in an 77-85 overtime loss against Virginia.
"I am happy to be part of this team and grateful to Reyer for wanting me so much, it's something that makes me proud. This is a great opportunity for me: Reyer is an ambitious club that aims to achieve important goals and I will make myself completely available to my teammates and staff to give my contribution to the team," Moretti said after the agreement. "Reyer has always given me the feeling of being a solid team with corporate foundations and high-level organisation. They have already spoken to me about the 'Reyer spirit' and I can relate to it perfectly because it is with this mentality that one can achieve something special. I bring with me my college experience at Texas Tech, in an incredible season we reached the NCAA final, as absolute 'underdogs'. I grew up with the mentality that hard work, character and team spirit can lead you to achieve important goals."
