Belinelli hurt his hamstring in the second minute of the Round 14 game against Umana Reyer Venice. He left the game and did not return.
Virtus guard learned on Friday that it is "a second-degree injury to the biceps femoris of his left thigh", and is set to miss at least 40 days.
Veteran guard, turns 36 years old later this month, was averaging 13.5 points on 42.3% three-point shooting, and 3.1 assists before his injury.
With four games left to play in the regular season, Virtus sits in fourth place in Group B with an 8-6 record.
