Game Center: Besiktas, Jerusalem grab key road wins; Ulm, Reyer, Buducnost, Turk Telekom triumph at home

Turk Telekom Ankara 88-63 London Lions
Turk Telekom stepped up two gears in the second half after a lackluster first to breeze past London Lions, who dominated the boards in the opening 20 minutes (22-15) but fizzed out after the interval. The home team improved to 9-5 in Group B and edged closer to securing a postseason spot while the Lions dropped to 5-9 and now have only a slim chance of avoiding an early exit after losing four of their last five.
London led by as many as 10 points (18-28) in the second quarter and held a slender 30-32 advantage at the interval but the tide turned straight after the break as Turk Telekom conjured a 13-1 run. The rampant hosts were 60-42 ahead at the end of the third quarter and breezed through the fourth for a comfortable win.
Uros Trifunovic paced Turk Telekom with 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from deep, Kyle Allman racked up 10 points and 4 assists and Marko Simonovic netted 6 points to go with 13 rebounds. At the other end, Ciaran Sandy stood out for the Lions with 12 points, as the visitors shot 6-of-32 from deep.
ratiopharm ulm 88-76 NINERS Chemnitz
Ulm revived its hopes for the playoffs by knocking off German rival Chemintz 88-76 to snap a four-game home losing streak. Ulm lost a 12-point lead but reclaimed control with a 10-2 fourth quarter run to improve to 6-8 in Group B with its first win at ratiopharm arena since November 5. The 12-point win was also enough for Ulm to take the tiebreaker against Chemnitz.
Ulm, losers of six of its previous seven games, was paced by Christopher Ledlum with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Tobias Jensen added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Malik Osborne had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Chemnitz saw its four-game winning streak end to fall to 7-7 despite Amadou Sow scoring 20 points and Kevin Yebo contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 95-81 Lietkabelis Panevezys
Buducnost claimed a 95-81 home win over Lietkabelis at Moraca Sports Center to improve to 9-5 in Group B and maintaining its position in the playoff race. Lietkabelis dropped to 3-11. After a fast-paced and evenly contested first quarter, Lietkabelis took control in the second quarter, leading by as many as 8 points behind efficient scoring in the paint led by Fardaws Aimaq. Buducnost responded in the third quarter with improved defense to retake the lead. In the fourth, Buducnost maintained defensive pressure and combined effective outside shooting with strong defensive execution to pull away and close out the game.
Axel Bouteille led Buducnost with 22 points, Nikola Tanaskovic scored 20 points, Rasheed Sulaimon 17 points and Yogi Ferrell finished with 10 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. For Lietkabelis, Aimaq led the way with 19 points and 4 rebounds, Paulius Danusevicius added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Michael Flowers scored 13 points.
Aris Thessaloniki Betsson 77-96 Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem
Table-topping Jerusalem comfortably downed Aris on Wednesday night at the Palais De Sports. Taking control of the contest from the very start, the Israeli team only tightened their grip throughout to come away with the 19-point victory to make it 11 consecutive wins. With the result, the already-qualified Jerusalem moved to 12-2 for the EuroCup season, while Igor Milicic’s men face a fight for postseason basketball at 7-7.
Reigning EuroCup MVP Jared Harper added 5 dimes to his 17-point scoring performance for the winners. Khadeen Carrington picked up 17 points of his own. Cassius Winston, Anthony Lamb and Yovel Zoosman also finished on double figures in scoring. The visitors won the game on the glass, finishing with 13 more rebounds than their opponents. Bryce Jones paced the Aris attack with 17 points.
Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse 99-103 Besiktas GAIN Istanbul
In a clash of Group B's best, Besiktas had to battle in the final minute to edge JL Bourg 99-103 at Ekinox in Round 14. Besiktas improved to 10-4 in the standings and has a 2-0 record against Bourg, which leads Group B at 11-3 with four games remaining in this stage.
Ante Zizic led the winners with 26 points on 9 of 10 two-point shooting. Jonah Mathews added 21 points, Brynton Lemar had 17 while Anthony Brown got 10 for Besiktas. Darius McGhee paced Bourg with 25 points, but committed 2 costly turnovers in the final minutes. Both Gach added 17, Adam Mokoka scored 15 and Kevin Kokila got 12 for the hosts. It all came down to the final 12.3 seconds, in which Lemar and Brown each hit free throws to seal a truly outstanding game.
Umana Reyer Venice 103-76 Slask Wroclaw
Reyer enjoyed a strong performance as it defeated visiting Slask 103-76 at Palasport Taliercio on Wednesday evening. The home team quickly built a double-digit advantage and led 31-21 after the first quarter and 55-44 at halftime, thanks to impressive showings from Denzel Valentine and Chris Horton. Reyer continued to widen the gap, reaching a game-high 27-point lead at the end of the game. With the victory, Reyer secured its fifth consecutive win and improved its record to 8-6. Meanwhile, while Slask suffered its sixth straight loss, dropping to 4-10 and remaining winless on the road for the season.
Alessandro Lever and Carl Wheatle led Reyer with 19 points each. Horton posted a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds and Valentine tallied 14 points and 10 boards. RJ Cole added 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Kadre Gray had 15 points to pace Slask and Angel Nunez, Issuf Sanon and Jakub Urbaniak poured in 12, 12 and 11, respectively, in the losing effort.

Bahcesehir College Istanbul 92-96 BAXI Manresa
Manresa suffered a massive collapse but managed to survive and beat second placed Bahcesehir College Istanbul 92-96 on the road to continue its strong run of results. Manresa led by 17 points after three quarters but watched Bahcesehir take the lead the lead in the final minute. Retin Obasohan’s basket saved the day, and Manresa improved to 8-6 in Group A - including five wins in its last six games.
The Spanish side has scored at least 93 points in six of its last seven games, being led by Obasohan with 20 points, Ferran Bassas had 19 points and Agustin Ubal collected 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bahcesehir dropped to 9-5 after having won three of its last four games. Malachi Flynn paced the hosts with 21 points, Trevion Williams had 20 points and 9 rebounds and Tyler Cavanaugh contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Neptunas Kleipeda 85-104 Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana
Cedevita Olimpija secured a comfortable 85-104 road win over Neptunas at Klaipeda's Svyturio Arena on Tuesday night, improving to 9-5 in Group A, while Neptunas dropped to 6-8. Cedevita controlled the opening quarter, building an early lead of up to 15 points. Neptunas answered in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 25-23 behind Zane Waterman to cut into the deficit. From the third quarter on, Cedevita took control inside, extending the margin to 13. A strong fourth quarter, in which the visitors stretched the lead to as many as 22 points, allowed Cedevita to close out the game.
Umoja Gibson led the way for the winners with 25 points and 4 assists. DJ Stewart added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, David Skara finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, Jaka Blazic posted 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Aleksej Nikolic scored 12 points. For Neptunas, Zane Waterman recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds, Donatas Tarolis added 13 points and 6 rebounds, Arnas Velicka contributed 12 points and 4 assists, and Egidijus Mockevicius tallied with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
U-BT Cluj-Napoca 103-92 Veolia Towers Hamburg
Club comfortably bested Hamburg on Tuesday night at the BT Arena, 103-92. Controlling the pace of play for the majority of the contest, the Romanian champs earned the 11-point victory. The result means that Hamburg will finish winless on the road in EuroCup and return home with a 0-14 record, where it will play out its final four games. On the other hand, fourth-placed Cluj moves to 8-6 for the season, as it continues to jostle for playoff placement.
Daron Russell ran the show for Mihai Silvasan’s men, adding 5 boards and 4 dishes to his impressive 23-point scoring display, while shooting at a clip of 8-16 from the field. Mitchell Creek also put up major numbers for the hosts, finishing the game with 20 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds. Bolstering the offense further, Nighael Ceaser, Karel Guzman and Dusan Miletic also finished on double figures.
Dolomiti Energia Trento 88-87 Panionios Cosmorama Travel Athens
Trento snatched victory from the jaws of defeat after Khalif Battle sank a buzzer-beating floater to delight the home fans. The win saw the hosts improve to 8-6 in Group B while the Greek side dropped to 2-12, having wiped out a 19-point deficit and coming agonizingly close to staging an upset.
Trento cruised through the opening half as the Italian team dominated the boards 28-12 - including 17 offensive rebounds - in the opening 20 minutes. The tide turned after the break as the visitors took the third quarter 13-32 with Joe Thomasson lethal from long range, propelling Panionios to a 76-81 lead with only a few minutes left in the contest. Trento then dug deep to force the final twist, staying firmly in a postseason spot while Panionios remained rooted to the bottom of the group.
DJ Steward paced Trento on 16 points and Jordan Bayehe added 15 to go with 6 boards, while Devante Jones racked up 11 and 8 assists. Battle sank 10 points as Peyton Aldridge amassed 8 points and as many boards. At the other end, Giorgos Tsampouris led Panionios with 19 points, Thomasson added 17 and Matt Lewis 14.
